Fantasy Football Advice Topic
Re: Fantasy Football Advice Topic
again depends on a lot of stuff.
how many teams. in a 10 team league, you probably just cut him. if you're 2-0 and like your chances then you can hold off and hold on to him.
he has value in the playoffs for sure. but even when he gets back you're going to want to see him play a week before starting him most likely. so the chances of him helping you are probably small. but then again, if he comes back and is really good, you have a stud pick up for the playoffs.
if you have a better option that you NEED on waivers, i don't think its a horrible idea to drop him... again just depends on other factors.
also a chance you can drop him in a lazy league and then if you win a couple more games and feel good about your playoff chances you can just pick him right back up a few weeks later. you should also look into defensive matchups as soon as you feel you're in a good shot to make the playoffs.

10 teams, didn't think of it that way, not a bad strategy.DRiccio21 wrote:how many teams. in a 10 team league, you probably just cut him. if you're 2-0 and like your chances then you can hold off and hold on to him
Yea, that's my worry. We play 13 weeks of the regular season, so i'll only have 2 weeks to gauge how he's playing before deciding to put him in the lineup for the playoffs, though 2 weeks may be all you need to see if he's getting 10+ targets a game in those 2 games.DRiccio21 wrote:he has value in the playoffs for sure. but even when he gets back you're going to want to see him play a week before starting him most likely. so the chances of him helping you are probably small. but then again, if he comes back and is really good, you have a stud pick up for the playoffs.
The guy who originally drafted him, waived him. But he's told me if I waive him, he's picking him up immediately. I should at least inquire about a trade with him, just to put it out there.

My 1st rookie mistake. I try to check on my guys daily with the injury updates, but somehow it slipped by me that Roddy White isn't playing today.
Crap.
Crap.

Re: Fantasy Football Advice Topic
Last year I got back into FF after taking a break since freshman year of college, and now I remember why. This shit is so consuming.
A note to point to just how much of a crapshoot this stuff is: Its a keeper league with auction draft, last season I spent a ton of time researching players, values, budgeting, etc. Ended up 7th and missed the playoffs. This year I did zero preparation, winged it through the draft, and have a team that has the highest expected score on a weekly basis per yahoo. Go figure.

PPR league, who do you think is more valuable, Percy Harvin or Alshon Jeffrey...I'm thinking Jeffrey, right?
I may have a tentative agreement in place to trade Josh Gordon and Martellus Bennett for either one of those guys.

Yea, trade seems like a no brainer. My backup TE and no clue what you'll get from Josh Gordon for a very good WR, hoping to close this one real quick.DRiccio21 wrote:Jeffrey probably but do either trade for sure.

Re: Fantasy Football Advice Topic
Never woulda guessed that Larry Donnell would be the guy to blow up that trade for Alshon Jeffrey lol.
The dude just picked up Donnell on waivers, and mentioned he wanted to wait til after the Thursday night game to pull the trigger on the possible deal.
3 Donnell TDs later, that deal is off.

Gonna need a new fantasy league next season, no one really communicates in the one I'm in.
I put Martellus Bennett on the block, top 3-5 TE, no one biting. It's like OOTP trade blocks!!!

My guess is it's because he has never had more than 65 rec, 800 yds and 5 TDs in 6 years in the league.
With that said, fantasy leagues for money tend to be that way. I've run a few of them for 15 years now and there is rarely a ton of communication that happens on the message boards. If any, it's usually private, via text / personal conversation.

Re: Fantasy Football Advice Topic
All those career highs were last year, his 1st season with the Bears, and this year he's on pace to easily top all of those as well. I'm not sure you can argue he's not a top 10 TE, he seems to be pretty clearly a top 5 TE.
Your 2nd point is interesting, I would have thought there'd be more involvement in money leagues, even if it is a smaller amount, like this one is.

My guess is that people tend to be more cautious and over-think stuff when money is involved. While in a free league, there's no financial risk to making a bad move.

I don't remember the exacts, Reign will probably chime in as soon as I waste this post lol.Cnasty wrote:What is this?shel311 wrote:Crap, speaking of, Reign what was that deal for that basketball software or whatever it was for $89.99, but free or something if you signed upf or Draft Kings?

1. Sign up for Draft kings, I think
2. You get this software free that normally cost $89.99, it basically crunches some NBA numbers or something.
3. Use that software, following the numbers projections, in those daily fantasy sports games Reign plays.
4. Trust the numbers.
5. Profit
Was I close Reign?

Site is blocked but if you google "Draft Kings basketball monster", you can see the offer. I'll check it out on my phone and can at least answer the question of whether the deal is still on, I assume it is.

Yup, those are the sites. Not sure how long that offer is/was going on.
Just get 1 login and share it. They aren't bright enough to track it right now. I passed mine around to a few people last year and the year before.
