Agreed.

It's been an entertaining bowl season, especially the BCS games.

Code: Select all

Louisville coach Charlie Strong's move to Texas might be imminent, but it won't happen before the coach and his athletic director, Tom Jurich, meet in person. UL spokesman Rocco Gasparro said as much Saturday amid speculation that a $25 million offer from Texas would pry the Cardinals' successful fourth-year coach.
wonder what that convo will be like?

CS: So, I guess you have heard by now...
TJ: Yes, and....
CS: Can you match 25 mill?
TJ: I know she's ugly, but can I sleep with your wife?
CS: I guess Ill be packing my things.

In all seriousness I can appreciate that he wants to talk to his AD and chat about what can be done. If he accepts, I think it will be a good hire.Texas is in need of a new more hands on coach and someone who can develop young talent. There is still a chance that he doesn't make a move but, that seems unlikely.

anyone who turns down texas is in a top 5 job or a coward. It's the best job in college football, and probably better than a lot of pro gigs.

*coward as in afraid of the pressure that comes with it*

Dantonio responded to Texas rumors by saying Michigan State is a destination, not a stop. Michigan state certainly isn't top five, does that means Dantonio a coward?

Great season.
Great team this year.
Great coach.

But Michigan State is not a destination. Probably not even in the top 15-20 positions in football?

Just being honest. :)

I am not talking about Dantonio.

He is an awesome coach that any team would like to have.

I am laughing at Michigan State being considered a destination as a top position.

Im certainly not saying MSU is a destination spot for most coaches, those were Dantonios words. That being said, its comical to think anyone who turns down Texas is a coward. Just because someone doesnt want the scrutiny/stress of a job doesnt make them a coward.

For example, in my line of work there is cardiac anesthesia, which involves very high risk cases and in general is incredibly stressful. Because of this, it also pays well, not unlike the Texas job. If one were to turn down a job doing those high risk cases, are they a coward? Or are they simply making a calculated decision on how much shit I really want to deal with? Not everyone cares about status/prestige, real or perceived

On a lighter note it doesn't look like Tom Jurich is going to sleep with Charlie Strong's wife. Glad the search is over and we can get back to business.

Well until it's time to fire Rick Barnes. Which should of been 2 years ago.

Tfan, will Charlie get away w having his assistants doing all the Longhorn Network stuff? He doesn't even do his radio show stuff here, he hates the media/booster obligations.

Louisville fans kill me.... Here is my Facebook feed:

"fuck Charlie, he should be loyal and should have had more class. All the things he said after turning down the Tennessee job were a lie.

Oh well.... Hey Jurich, bring Petrino back! "

I agree. I think his style of coaching would fit well there
