I hate electric stoves. I love my cast irons and haven't been able to use one in a year (outside of camping). Cast iron's are the only way to cook a proper ribeye IMO. Search Gordon Ramsey's perfect steak and try the recipe one time and you'll never go back to a grill.

I baby my cast irons, nobody is allowed to clean them except me. If I go to someones house and they cook with their cast irons I volunteer myself to clean them. It's relaxing for me. I can cook eggs in mine without them sticking I have them seasoned so well

Can't you use them on the grill?

You can, just takes longer to get piping hot though.

Over the last 6 or 7 years I've really gotten into trying different beers. Craft and all that good stuff. I'd like to share some of the more unique beers, good or bad, that I come across. Some of those are pretty fucked up, but I still try it. If anyone is in the same boat I'll start up a thread somewhere if you think it'll get some love around here.

I've been cooking a mean rare filet on the cast iron- sear it for two mins on each side at about 8/9 heat then baste on low/medium in butter for about 5-6 minutes depending on how thick it is

That means you can go max 10 minutes out, and of course you probably have to allot a little buffer time. So you basically can't really go anywhere, it's really just a thing for a rich dude to get and fly around in and hopefully not die like Roy Halladay did.

On my monthly posting binge, but I was wondering if y'all had any fitness goals for for 2021?

Mine are:
1) Run a 6 minute mile
2) 405 squat
3) 500 lb deadlift
4) 300 LB bench

priority is in that order

Update:
don't even think i could run a 9 minute mile right now lmao
Squatted 365 yesterday pretty easy- bought a belt and that has helped a lot
deadlifted 405 for 3 a couple a weeks ago then did 365 for 10- E1RM would be about- 455 if i had to guess
Haven't maxed bench in a while, but hit 270 about 3 month ago- proably will max in about 4-5 weeks- hoping to get atleast 295

No over ever looks at the health forums so im just gonna post this here

Going to max out on Squat next week- 405 should go up pretty easy- would be cool to get 420 (lol)

Deadlifted last night, but really been focusing on squatting, going to focus on that now. I think I should be able to get 500 before the end of the year. last be max was 475.

Benched 295, 5ish weeks ago. Did 225 for 11 reps- estimated 1 rep max is ~310. Hitting a 3 plate bench would be unreal.

Goals for 2022?
6 minute mile and get absolutely shredded. I sitting at about 205 right now and i'm only like 5'7 would love to get down to around 175 and maintain my lifting maxes

If you want to get faster, you need to run a lot of 400m and 800m sprints. I'll have to find the program I was using when I was in the Army but it helped quite a bit, I ran a 4:59 mile. It's called Train to Max
