Yeah, torture. Zak and Jack wasn't very good this morning. I wasn't looking forward to DP either, so I was just holding out until Cowherd (Gottlieb) came on. At least tomorrow I can watch the US Open and get away from the Lebron-mania.

i said first thing the next morning (go back thru and find it if you'd like, it was response to VVV i believe who brought it up) that i felt people were taking what he said way out of context (as did many other people). i stated that if he said what others were inferring what he said that i would stop supporting LeBron because it's about as lowlife of a thing as you can possibly say. Believing in yourself, being confident/arrogant is one thing, but putting down others (in a blanket statement like that) is another thing completely and i would never support anyone who does that.

suddenly people know what LeBron meant more than he knows what he meant.

he did say those things... its not as if saying they wouldn't win a title was some incredibly bold prediction. they didn't win and i said a million times this year that 'while there is a better chance they don't win than do (obviously), at no point did another team have a better chance over the Heat'. I absolutely stand by that and i still would and by looking at Vegas they would too. as a matter of fact if you'd give me even money on the field next season vs just the heat i'd take the field for a large sum of money and would have done that this year as well and every year.

shel or i or anyone who liked the Heat ever said they couldn't lose... of course they had a shot to lose... they might lose next year and the year after too. they aren't better than 50% chance to win the finals. they are probably like 30% chance... but no other team is over 30%.

all i do is play probability... probability doesn't mean that things will always happen.

look at Vegas to understand what the truth is... guess who's the overwhelming favorites next year, guess who's the overwhelming favorite for MVP.

You have your right to think you know what he was meaning to say, just as others have their right. And the issue is, the majority believes he was arrogant. If you read the typed words, it doesn't seem so bad. I do think there was a an arrogance in his voice, as opposed to a calm reasoning. How you say things has a huge impact on it. I'm sure he was frustrated/agitated at that news conference, but he has to learn how to handle that. So whether he meant to or not, the 2nd news conference was damage control.

Cubs minor league team mocks LeBron with ring giveaway

By 'Duk

Cubs minor league team mocks LeBron with ring giveawayLeBron James was right: The people who run the Peoria Chiefs really did wake up on Monday morning with their usual host of personal problems.

Chief, uh, among them: How were they supposed to bring widespread publicity to their Single-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs without spending a lot of money — or any money at all, really?

Luckily, the defeated but smug Miami Heat star provided them with enough inspiration to make this an easy work week. And so the Chiefs will be holding "LeBron James 2011 NBA Championship Replica Ring Giveaway" night for Thursday night's game.

The catch being that the ring, like the one James didn't earn against the Dallas Mavericks, is non-existent so fans will really just be receiving a handful of air. The joke "giveaway" is being tacked on to an already scheduled promotion celebrating Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls' run of six NBA titles over eight years during the 1990s.

From the Peoria Chiefs press release:

In addition to the LeBron replica ring, the Chiefs are looking into whether or not the game can skip the fourth inning to honor King James who took off the fourth quarter of every finals game.

"We aren't sure if the league will allow it," said team President Rocky Vonachen. "But if LeBron doesn't need to show up for the fourth, maybe we won't either."

One lucky fan will win a replica of James' 2011 Finals MVP Award which he earned with his clutch fourth quarter play. Fans will also have the opportunity to learn how to perform the Heimlich to prevent themselves or their colleagues from choking in a big situation.

"Really this is just us getting back to the real world and waking up today and trying to solve our own personal problems," said Vice President of Ticket Sales Eric Obalil.

I'm usually not a big fan of minor league teams jumping on the latest sports news for a cheap headline or promotion, especially if it doesn't involve the sport they play.

But I have to hand it to the chiefs of the Chiefs. It sure takes a lot of guts to schedule a giveaway mocking LeBron's lack of rings when you're feeding a big league baseball franchise that hasn't won one since 1908. Especially when the Cubs are currently a heck of a lot further away from winning a championship than James and the Heat.

why would the Cubs, a team that hasnt won the world series in like 100 years, make fun of Lebron? in a no cap league with a lot of money, they can't win, you'd think they'd be the last team to make fun of him :?

LeBron has an automatic transmission in his Lamborghini because he doesn't know anything about the clutch.

before i laugh too hard, what are you saying?

are you saying Kobe has accomplished more in his career (i'm assuming you're counting things like rings in this)?

or that Kobe is a better player over the span of his career (if you're saying this, please make a case to show me how he's better and 'it isn't close'... or do your eyes just tell you he's better  )

It's a debate that gets us no where. You'll discredit the rings and I won't. Around in circles it goes.
