Its also prob pretty appealing to the league to have a solid match up with USC playing UF. I will simply say I think I could give either of these two guys a game with UVA. I know it may not happen, then we will prob have a nice let down like you see all the time in our BCS game, but hey the people gotta know how I feel!

i'll be clear, you might not get my vote... but it has nothing to do with who i do or don't party with.
i think most of us are big boys and we can seperate the 2.
other then maybe corey, he might be obligated to vote for his friend (but i'm sure there are coaches in college football that vote for their friends in close calls too)

Shel has only played 3 teams with a winning record. I have played 4 teams with a winng record. His one loss came to a 5-5 Cal team and I lost to a 7-5 Clemson team. I personally think the ACC is more difficult (sorry Pac -10) and I had to play a championship game. Not to mention doing all of this with a B- team we would love a shot at the Gators or the Trojans. Anyhow thats all the lobbying I got, not a strong argument but hey I had to try.....

Massey has the ACC Coastal # 2 behind the Big 12 South
But USC's overall SOS is better than yours, looks like Shel played a much tougher OOC schedule

I hear ya and I agree I can separate friendship and all that as well and was joking previously about the drink comment.
Shel and Nole are a couple of my best friends but I was planning on voting for them as the season unfolded and their resumes spoke well to the end of the season.
I could see voting for Packsy as he had an awesome season, but to factor in Massey and overall schedule strength on LD which Shel dominates makes my vote most likely being cast for him.
Has nothing to do with "NDL Florida" on my vote.

I'm sorry. I was joking and that is cool you guys consider the fact, because I think I would vote for my own friends that why I figured you guys would do the same.
Red don't kill my thunder of my awesome OOC schedule in which my 4 opponents went a combined 4 - 44 I think it was.

LD also has me listed as the #1 team... so Massey should hold more water lol

theres no point of voting just yet anyways. the simmings haven't been updated so some teams are still 6-2 on the sheet

The sheet hasn't been updated. The sim's have taken place. But you're right, no need to vote yet.

Ha, very interesting thread. I dunno, to me Packs plea wasn't bad and seemed to be in clean fashion. You know you rubbed some the wrong way, the question is how many, and did you hurt yourself in the end...??? I don't think so. On my way to vote now! GL to all who are in the running!

i do enjoy how bigred owns nole... two wins vs him this season. If he wouldn't have lost twice, I would have likely put him #1.
I usually don't use the voting aid, put the 30 or so teams I am considering in an excel sheet, delete the team name and put down SOS, Point Diff. and who they lost to. From there, I rank them. Usually works out well.
The most annoying thing is when you accidently put the same team twice and it fucks up and resets... I wish their was a back button so I could go back and fix the mistake instead of redoing the whole thing.

The reason I'd put USC in front of UVA would be 3 reasons.
1. OOC schedule
2. Overall higher quility win. (UCLA 11-1) vs (NC St. or Miami)
3. USC lost earlier in the season.
The reason I'd put UVA in front of USC would be 3 reasons.
1. ACC is tougher overall IMO
2. Packs did it with a B- team..but really team grades dont matter cause CMU 12-1 is more impressive then both.
3. Paxsy seems to want it more...He is out looking for votes
Fla./USC is just a prettier match-up in the eyes of the football gods.
Good season Paxs but you know as well as others that a early loss is better then a late loss in college football.

In my loss I picked off VVV game winning FG drive only to be called for a phantom PI....

.
Which would have put me in scoring range for myself.
Does that help, lol jk

Thats generally the case bc an early loss allows for time to climb back up the polls. In this case both teams are already up in the polls and fighting for he same spot, so why would timing of a loss matter at all? You really objectively think an early loss to be "not as bad" as a late one?

why don't we just settle down and put both of them in the NC, nole doesn't need to be there.

Not my rule just how college football works.
Asked Michigan about it, remember they went 11-1 but lost their last game of the season...While Fla. lost early. Who played for the title?
Ask WVU about it...lost their last game to Pitt and was #2...got jumped by LSU who played in the title game.
Same thing with Kansas St. lost the Big 12 title game..didnt play for the title.
I can go on for a while about teams that lost thier last or 2nd to last game of the year and ended up getting jumped by a team with equal or less impressive records.
A late loss is disaster in college football.
The NDL votes in 2 week blocks...so Paxs lost in week 12....so this is the 1st time we've got to vote since he has lost. If we would have voted after week 13 he would have dropped down after losing to a 7-5 team.

lol, thats actually how im voting
partly because thats how i do
partly because when things are "close" when it comes to champ games.... i like seeing coaches who havent won or played for a championship yet
partly because it enhances my Nole-holtz reputation and is a cock thing to do
partly because it makes me giggle and in my own little world thats what matters most
...now as to which of them I vote ahead of the other...pack makes some good points ubt i know historically i use massey SOS as god when things are close
who knows..we'll see
good times ahead
