I still don't understand the win goal stuff, we've always been told ur win goal is only 20%....but last season with georgia my win goal was 10....I won 8 games, scored 40 on my perticipation, 38 out of 40 on coaches report....and had 2.5 bank points from the season before.....oh and 3 bonus points for running the farm. And won my bowl.
so I scored 78 out of 80, missed my win goal
by 2 games, won a bowl and ran the farm...and lost my team...so I'm not sure how it works, but I'd like to.
This is the same situation I'm facing Ank. It's easy to suggest that "winning is ONLY 20%" until you realize that the standards to keep an A- or higher team (I believe B+ is where it becomes possible to not hit the win goal), mean that you MUST hit your win goal. Which, in most cases, is 9-10. I believe I worked out every possible point that I could get, even if I wouldn't have lost to MSU, and I still couldn't keep PSU w/o getting my 10 wins. So in this case, winning is the ONLY way to keep PSU. (as was your situation with Georgia)
Actually Reign, if you beat BC, then you still have a chance to keep PSU. Remember, you also get points based on what bowl game you make it to and whether you win or lose that game.
I don't follow you here UC. Here is my contract:

Penn State Nittany Lions A-
Overall Win Goal - 40 Points

Conference Goals
Win Conference - 15 Points (NOT POSSIBLE)
Finish Top 2 in Conference - 15 Points (Maybe)

Rivalry Games - 30 Points (20pts)
Pittsburgh (WON 10pts)
Ohio State (WON 10pts)
Michigan State (LOST)

Bonus Points: (16 bonus pts so far, 4 possible)
Road win - 2 points (5 so far, 10pts)
Beat a ranked team while unranked - 5 points (NOPE)
Beat a ranked team while ranked - 3 points (2 here 6pts)
Win over win goal - 1 point (nope)
Win conference with win goal of 5 or less - 10 points (nope)
Make a bowl game with a win goal of 2 or less - 10 points (nope)

So that's 36pts in the books.
If I win BOTH remaining conference games, that gives me 2 for a road win, and 15 for 2nd in the Big 10. For a total of 53.

If I lose either, I likely don't get 2nd in the Big 10.

Assuming a win out, that's only 9 wins, 1 short of my goal. (10) So assume all goes well and it comes down to BC after winning both of those games (we'll see, not betting on it anyway). If I lose to BC and miss the win goal, I have 53 pts. That's 11.5 added to an assumed 80. Giving me 91.5 total.

By my math, the only way I keep PSU is to win out all 3 games.

Farewell PSU, I miss you already my love!
You also have to take into account coaching report scores and participation points.

Now my win goal is 4 which I already surpassed, but does this include FIU since they are still on this schedule.
  • UTEP Miners

    2. vs. Florida International Panthers
    3. at New Mexico State Aggies
    4. vs. New Mexico Lobos
    5. vs. Houston Cougars
    6. at Memphis Tigers
    7. vs. Mississippi State Bulldogs
    8. vs. Tulsa Golden Hurricane
    9. vs. UAB Blazers
    10. at Tulane Green Wave
    11. at Southern Methodist Mustangs
    12. at Rice Owls
    13. vs. Marshall Thundering Herd
    14. at Auburn Tigers

Projected Final Win Goal: 4 Win(s)

Yes, they do. They count as an expected win since Texas-El Paso is raated better than Florida International.

Nole4real wrote:he's saying you have bowl game points to add in there too

http://www.onlinedynasty.net/forum/view ... ?f=4&t=126

so say you place 4th in big10 and get Alamo bowl and win..thats another 12 points

so u go from 53 to 65...

thats worth about 2 points on your final grade and may give you a 93.5 allowing you to keep them

...just sayin...you still have a chance :)
Well I'll be a .... doh.

4 seasons back and for some reason I completely overlooked the bowl game payouts being added on. I never saw it in the Coaches Contract so I just figured that the only bowl game points that you received, that mattered, were outlined in the Coaches' Contract.

Maybe there should be a tag line added to all Coaches' Contracts, under the bonus points section, that directs us to that page.

Doh doh doh!

Thanks Nole4Help.

Quick question, does the win goal only count for the regular season or is the bowl game counted also? Another words if I gotta win 10 games and win 9 during the regular season and then win my bowl game does that bowl game get counted also for a total of 10 wins?

Bowl game does not count towards your win goal.

Frankie7512 wrote:Okay one more question to throw out there since I don't know.

What determines a win goal? I mean obviously the ratings have somethin to do with it I assume but what is the system for determining a win goal if there is one besides ratings?
nope, simple ratings

if you have a "B" team you look at the ratings for all the teams on your schedule

if you play a team higher than you, you get nothing added

if you play a team with a B- or less, you get 1 addes to your win goal..for each "b" team you play that has the same rating as you, you get .5 added

I added a link to this thread in my info for newbies.

This is the kind of stuff that needs to be layed out for new members. If commissioners can keep explaining this stuff and break it down, I will add it to the newbie post when it is all finished.
