I guarantee these guys have complete control of their future games. They wouldn't have signed with EA if not. I think it will be a good partnership that should deliver some top notch stuff.

You quit the NDL so we don't hear your bitching any more, and I'll self-ban myself from the shooter boards.
Deal?

Last Modern Warfare 2 lead designers leave - Report
By Tom Magrino, GameSpot Posted Apr 14, 2010 12:09 pm PT
Steve Fukuda and Zied Rieke reportedly tender resignations at Infinity Ward; lead environment artist Chris Cherubini, programmer Rayme Vinson also said to be out.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 developer Infinity Ward has been beset by high-profile departures since Activision fired studio head Vince Zampella and game director Jason West in March. With another day comes another batch of resignations at the studio, as Kotaku reports that lead designers Steve Fukuda and Zied Rieke have both tendered their resignations.
It would appear as if Infinity Ward also needs to do a bit of respawning.
The departures are made all the more significant, considering Fukuda and Rieke were the only two remaining design leads on Modern Warfare 2, according to the game's credits. Last week, multiplayer lead designer Todd Aldermann revealed his departure from the studio. Aldermann was joined by fellow design lead Mackey McCandlish earlier this week.
It doesn't stop there, however. The gaming blog also reports that lead environment artist Chris Cherubini and programmer Rayme Vinson have also both departed Infinity Ward this week. According to Cherubini's LinkedIn profile, the artist has been with the studio since August 2004 and contributed to Call of Duty 2 through Modern Warfare 2.
Over the past several weeks, Infinity Ward has seen the departure of a number of other senior-level employees, including software engineer lead Francesco Gigliotti, senior animator Bruce Ferriz, and programmer Jon Shiring.
The departures come despite Activision's stated intent to reallocate Modern Warfare 2 bonuses previously intended for West and Zampella to "those employees responsible for the success of the game who remain employees of the company." However, disbursal will only come if Activision prevails in its counterclaim against West and Zampella's initial $36 million suit against the company.
As with previous departures, none of the aforementioned developers indicated whether they would be joining West and Zampella at their newly formed

I provide this info only for Trendon so fuck the rest of you.
EA takes a nice shot at Activision.
_______________
The sudden demise of Activision’s golden horse has sent ripples through the games industry – and it’s fair to say there is quite a few companies who intend to use some bad moves from Activision to their own advantages and EA is the latest to offer comment.
Activision have very recently announced the Stimulus package add-on for Modern Warfare 2 has being a record breaking release that has earn't the company even more money than it could of dreamed of, and it’s on this that EA's US director of corporate communications Jeff Brown commented, saying:
"
This is kind of like announcing: The race horse I shot last month has won the Triple Crown!"
The mass exodus from the studio has continued today and now the number of core talent that has left Infinity ward is in double figures – it’s going to both hurt the production of the next Modern Warfare title and indeed Activision’s financial status in the future. We suspect when Activison fired the studios founders they wasn’t quite expecting so much repercussions!

Nice quote, lol.
From what I can tell, Activision didn't learn from EA how to not fuck up when you are gigantic. EA had that trouble with treating employees of EA and connected companies like shit (whether it be true or not) and you haven't heard a peep about it since.

Seems like this could be a perfect chance for Treyarch to step their game up in November

I’m sure Treyarch will deliver. Treyarch has a much easier job because they just piggyback on the MW2 engine to create their game. Another words, they don’t create any new tech for the series. They just create their game based on the tech that IW created.
The question is going to be if somebody can step up and advance the tech ever few years. MW1 was a huge leap in the series and MW2 was another. Will somebody be able to advance it again down the road? If they don’t, the game will get stale very quick.

meh....COD4 was a HUGE leap....W@W and MW2 are not that much different to be honest.
Kill streaks are lame as hell, but one of the cool things MW2 introduced is a million challenges. At 1st, I didnt think I would like, the challenges and emblems and titles are pretty cool.

I would say the netcode is vastly improved. Lag will always be in a issue with a P2P connection but there is far less lag in MW2 than there was in the previous games. Some of those games could be a fucking disaster.
