Because if you set them to aggressive there are major drawbacks, if you set them to conservative there are drawbacks, some severe, some not. i.e. catching aggressive you drop way more passes, conservative you break less tackles. Big run aggressive you are gonna fumble more often than you break a big one. With the blocking set to aggressive you are gonna get way more holding and clipping calls, set it to conservative and you can plan on running for your life.
+1 As I think they are way more even in this year's game. Minus jump the snap.

I just think it is close minded to just say "If I find out someone is using them, they are cheese and will get zeros."

There is nothing that says you will even know if they ever fix Showdown. There are only a few that I use, and I don't have them on the whole game. But like I said earlier, I am hearing different opinions and glad that people are being sane and also not being censored...

Even when you have stuff set it still doesn't help all the time. You will still fumble even if you have conservative set.

Nole until they get the showdown problem fixed though you won't be able to see it. The only thing you will see is the jump the snap thing going and basically the only way of knowing they didn't do it with the R3 stick is if they aren't controlling a d lineman.

This is a "mute" point since the showdown thing is off and anyone can be using every single one of them and we wont know.

I just have trust in my opponent that they arent using it.

Know if you play me though, I wont use any of them. Id rather win controlling it and not with the help of a lame EA addition.
plus 1. I really dont use any of it. I put catch on conservative but half the time forget. As for anything else i dont use it. I have played a few games where i know the hold block or what ever its called is being used or big run is being used. Whatever really, if you feel you have to use it to win so be it. Just like Nole said above Moderation is the key, But like Corey said above if you play me i wont be using any.

I don't care if I see user jump snap the whole freakin' game, it isn't an instant sack. I just think if a guy wants to use them, let them. I think its hilarious the direction they went with "Read" options this year. I have called "Read Run Right" on occasion and have guessed right and it's a 80 yard TD run, they didn't fix it, they made it not work at all...lol
Does it even tell you if your opponent jumps the snap?

Yep, but it doesn't do it all the time.

Well if it does, you can definitely see if someone is using it.

My personal stance is I will never understand why anyone uses them, plain and simple.

Why not just play the game the way it is?

Why cause any doubt and even bring that into the picture?

Thats the part I dont understand from the people that use it.

Especially in this version where using no gimmicks or gameplan crap the game is amazing. Nothing is money, nothing is glitchy, and we finally have the most well rounded game since the PS2.

I use conservative big run to avoid fumbles and try to remember conservative on catching. Other than that I don't do anything else. I have not even did play pass feature. I hate fumbles and dropsies more than anything!

Those are the only two I touch as well. I get tired of the drops and easy fumbles.

And don't assume someone is using the aggressive D-line feature just because you see "jump snap". I play with a DL quite often and have gotten good at flicking the stick at the right moment to MANUALLY jump the snap, and it shows the same thing as if the D-line is set to aggressive.

i used them against bigred. well, to be specific, i put big hit and strip ball on conservative to try to get my guys to tackle as it seemed like they were trying to strip the ball the whole game and John Clay was blowing me up. but other than that i haven't felt the urge to or used them.

I only use the conservative catch and conservative run to keep down the drops and the fumbles. I don't use anything else when playing someone online and expect them not to be used against me. If I'm going to win its going to be from plays called and stick control. When I lose I want it to be for the same reason.

i don't put run or catch on conservative (whatever it is) and haven't noticed any fumbles at all on my part and very very few dropped passes. This could easily change as the season goes, but through a couple of games and quite a few scrimmages I haven't noticed any of them.

If defenses are really that much better if you choose play the pass, etc...it's no wonder i suck on defense.

Really, I'm not even talking about PLay the pass, or Read Run. Those are stupid and I don't use them.

i thought these were illegal.

That was last years game, this year if you use them it almost never has the effect it had like last season. But that's not the topic of discussion anyway, I'm talking Gameplan...

Well since we don't know if people are using it the what can we do? I personally don't use the shit,I maybe used it in one game last year. They should have just left the shit out and let it be an even playing field all around. Hopefully they fix it where u can at least see if someone is even using it. If I were the HMIC I would just say it is disallowed to even the playing field.
