ESPN said that due to being ineligible at his former school, that transfered with him, and has to sit out a year. Basically told him that you cant just switch schools to avoid the consequences.

let's not forget Houston Nutt was the guy who brought back the Wildcat, so Masoli would've been a great fit there.

They're supposed to be very talented in the trenches and they have a talented RB in Bolden coming back, which would have definitely benefited from Masoli although SEC defenses are 100135391513049134x better than the Pac 10
