We shall see Corey. I think it will be a real good test for both teams.Cnasty wrote:Make sure you get there early to experience the best tailgating experience that is Tiger Stadium.TerpsMustDie wrote:We have to get primed for the game on Saturday night though.
I have been to a lot of other campuses and none have come close. The fans are awesome and offer all the cajun food specialties, tons of drinking, and it extends for miles.
Im not sure you will be that excited once the game is over and the outcome.

I haven't been to Pat O's, but I know one of the fraternities at UT has a Pat O's themed party every spring and they get everything from them
I am not a huge fan of crawfish unless wasted, but I wonder how good NO is if you don't love seafood? I like red beans & rice/cornbread/jambalaya, but not so big on seafood besides shrimp cocktail

Re: New Orleans/Baton Rouge Suggestions
Just as a follow up, we had a great time in New Orleans/Baton Rouge. Hit up many of the touristy things in NO, including Cafe Du Monde and Domisile's. Stayed in a great room at the Hotel Royal Sonesta, even had to use a key to get to our floor. We then went on to Baton Rouge where aside from the outcome of the game we had a great time. We ate at Chimes on Friday and saw a Journey cover band next door. We did the alumni tailgate on Saturday, but I wish we would have wandered the tailgates instead. Many LSU fans were telling us to come hang out with them, offering food and drink (I did accept after the game). Mike the Tiger is pretty bad ass, and the campus was very nice. Baton Rouge is a thousand times nicer city than New Orleans...I wish I would have had more time to explore.
Anyway, it was a great trip, and I was really impressed with the courtesy of the LSU fans. I was a little disappointed by the lack of noise in the stadium, but they got loud at the end. I figure it's more intense for an SEC opponent, or when Les Miles is not sucking your soul dry. I think WVU easily could have won that game, but just can't get out of their own way early. It's the story of Stew's tenure. We had a ton of injuries, and Devine and Goode going down in the game were too much. We should be 100% this weekend.
LSU has a nasty D and good special teams, but the discipline is definitely lacking. And with the athletes they have on offense, there is no excuse for their ineptitude. I can't believe Les pulled another Ole Miss this weekend. I get frustrated with our coaching, but I would go crazy with Les. Just no excuse for not being much better than they are.

Nice to hear you had a good time and LSU fans were good to you.
I'm not sure what you mean about exploring BR more. Other than Tiger Stadium and a few college bars, there's literally nothing there. And they have nothing that remotely compares to the French Quarter.
Royal Sonesta is probably the best hotel on Bourbon, value/location wise. Good choice there. How was Bourbon Street?

Re: New Orleans/Baton Rouge Suggestions
It was a good time. Unfortunately my wife had food poisoning before even leaving for New Orleans, but she was cool and didn't mind that I went out with my friends. We went to a bunch of different places. We ventured over to Frenchman street (where the locals hang out), but it seemed pretty shady so we headed back. My wife did come out for a bit, but started feeling bad, so I walked her home. On my way back down to meet my friends, when I was just outside of my hotel I was lighting a cigar. A pretty cute girl asked me for a light. Before I could even try to light her cigarette she grabbed my junk and said, "this is what I really want" and asked to go up to my room. I told her my wife would not approve and she said we could go to her place. I declined, but still offered her a light. I called my wife right after to tell her I was sexually assaulted by a prostitute. We all had a good laugh and I went down to meet my friends. By the way, Scores in New Orleans does not hold a candle to Scores in New York. Just FYI.shel311 wrote:Nice to hear you had a good time and LSU fans were good to you.

I wonder what her going rate was.
