Damn man. That sucks the asshole didnt have insurance. Even though Florida is a no fault state, it is still illegal to drive without insurance. That's going to cost quite a bit to get that fixed. My brother's charger got hit like that and they had to replace the whole bumper. It's the hidden damage you need to worry about. My 300 is basically the same platform as the charger and when i got hit from behind it screwed up the trunk area. It didnt look like I had as much damage as you have there either.

At least its just a charger.

Yea man, I'm 99% sure he doesn't have insurance, and if he doesn't, I probably won't get it fixed right away.

He gave me his name and number, and if/when my insurance company calls me and verifies that he definitely doesn't have insurance, you bet your ass I'm calling him and asking him to pay for it, LOL. Worse he can say is no, but fuck it, just to make him feel uncomfortable, I'll do it.

Everyone files their own insurance and they fight out who pays and all that good stuff.

Being he has no insurance, Shel will file with his insurance, pay a deductible and probably get nothing at all from this fucker unless he goes to court.

Florida being a no fault state has nothing to do with fault. No fault means that you have to go to your own insurance for most of your medical coverage but you can file your damages through either your ins or his ins if he had some...trust me I work as a claims adjuster...the funny thing is that even the police don't know what this law means...your insurance company should be able to run his tag or VIN for insurance...when all else fails call the mofo up and ask "where's my money bitch"...

That's the exact plan. I'm gonna call my insurance company tomorrow and see if they have found out yet if he has insurance.

He offered to pay for it at first without reporting it, but I declined because he said he had insurance. If he doesn't have insurance, it most certainly can't hurt me to call his ass up and ask him to pay for it.

I hear ya and my expertise is the medical part so probably what I was thinking that no matter who is at fault even if its him 110% everyone files their own insurance and is responsible for that aspect.

Being he doesnt have insurance and Shel will probably have to pay a deductible on his claim and the dude being sketchy is a good chance he is fucked unless he brings him to court and hopefully the cop gave him a couple tickets with no insurance and the accident.

I think I said on the 1st page, the Doucebag cop only gave him a ticket for no proof of insurance, nothing for careless driving.

I asked the cop what was that all about and the cop says since there are no witnesses so it couldn't be "proved" that he hit me in the freaking back of my car and a court would throw it out, blah blah blah. I told him that was hard to believe considering the dude admitted to the cop that he hit me from behind. I know the cop just didn't wanna do all the necessary paperwork. But I also know the last thing you wanna do is start talking back to a cop, so I didn't say much.

Good news is, my brother in law is a cop and he says there are some special reports or something or other after the fact that i can call and they can complete. Not sure what it would accomplish since the dude doesn't have insurance, but he basically said it would be extra paperwork and hassle for the cop to do, so I'm definitely gonna do that as a fuck you to that cop.
