HTC Evo 3D on June 24 fellas. Will blow everything else out of the water.

* 1.2 GHz Snapdragon Dual-core processor (insanely fast)
* 4.3 inch qHD 3D screen (first ever in the US)
* Two 5MP cameras for capturing pics in 3D and video in 720p HD 3D and 1080p in 2D
* HTC Sense 3.0 is SWEET

Among other things, this phone is a BEAST. Been test driving it for the past couple of weeks. Really big improvements over the regular Evo, including MUCH better battery.

jeffdaddy, just hook your phone up to your computer that has your itunes on it. It will automatically tell you that there is an update.
The latest one was a month or so ago. I believe version 4.3.3???

Is this a sprint phone? Hate to use a carrier that will slowly die.

Yes, and not slowly dying. Sprint will (should) be around for awhile.

The first obvious question, did you try a different cord, if not, do, if so and it still does it, then it is something with your phone.
If you have the applecare warranty, take it in, if you don't, on any future apple product, I strongly recommend you buy the applecare. They take care of anything besides pure abuse.

jeffdaddy, Here is some info on the changes with each revision:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IOS_version_history
Sorry, don't have time right now to find you a full break down. I am sure on apple.com somewhere is a list of what exactly each revision added or fixed.

I was going to ask Shel when the last time he took an update was. Cause the last update he took could have caused the issue and a new one could easily fix his issue.

Niddler, thanks for the help first of all.

I always download the iTunes updates pretty soon after they come out.

The phone actually worked perfectly until an update screwed it up, the first one after the iPhone 4 came out. It'd not as bad as it was right after, but it's still not very good.

Lately, the updates don't change anything in terms of the speed or freezing/really slow app issues.

It depends on what program you used to jailbrake it, but 99.9% of them, NO!

And if you have downloaded applications that would normally cost you money, but you got them for free cause your phone is jailbroken, if you ever hook the phone to itunes and take an update, they will charge you for those applications.
You have to look on the site where you got the program to use to jailbrake your phone. They will have some sort of instructions or forum where guys will tell you how to update your phone.

I have never jailbroke mine, but plenty of friends have, so I have heard the stories.

completely agree, except the blackberry part. Instead i have a Droid Eris which they coincidentally stopped making and it's one of 3 models of Verizon phones that don't have backup assistant so when you get a replacement phone you lose half your f-ing numbers
