I believe either way he would be around the same rank... I sat here trying to figure out where i would be if we started poll at preseason or after week 5/6 and i couldnt find much difference... the biggest difference especially this week would be making ur poll too early... I believe I submitted mine after shel's loss... but missed Boise... Michigan... Penn St...Florida... UConn... West Virginia...UCLA.. losses which for me would of dropped Boise(#2) outta top 5... Michigan(#10) back to the 20's... penn state (#7) back in the 10's... Florida (#18) borderline 25... UConn (#11) 20's... West Virginia (#25) out.... UCLA (#20) out... This is based on me using the actually standings through w/e weeks are open (this week weeks 5&6 open).... rather than just using the teams record to weeks 3/4.... stop me if im wrong but I dont see the point in....FOR AN EXAMPLE: Western Kentucky being 4-0 through weeks 3/4 with weeks 5/6 open and playing with 2 losses... Now up to date record is 4-2... no way am I going to give him votes of a 4-0 record when up to date he is 4-2... AFTER THIS WEEK I AM WAITING UNTIL MONDAY NIGHT TO SUBMIT MY POLLDRiccio21 wrote:how about if 15 teams were undefeated still?
Western Michigan would be ranked about 20 if that was the case.
if we voted after week 5 and he was 5-0 with a win over #1 LSU, i'd guess he'd be much closer to 10.

I already admitted, in a different thread, that I submitted my vote the day the polls opened and it was probably about 20 minutes or so after I submitted them that I saw that LSU lost!cougnix wrote:Which makes me wonder who is it that isn't paying attention to the results of games when they vote? But my job and somewhat of a social likfe prevent that, but anyways I think maybe the commish or a senior member should maybe put out a NDL memo clarifying the leagues position on voting and when to vote and how to voye a little better. Now I dont want to say its not clear because the voting part is but as a new guy this being my second season I do think that I may aproach the whole voting thing different than some of you, and I think by the end of this thread its pretty easy to see that not all of use agree on whats fair in voting.
Personally I think its fair to use all games played in voting. meaning like John said if a guy plays his games early then they should count, just as if a guy doesnt play his games they count against him. Thats the only fair way to do it, otherwise, you have incidents like shels, or even me. I mean technically by this vote ucla was 3-0, but because im a freak and hound my opponents for games im really 3-2 (losing to 2 ranked teams btw!). But I think the only faair way is to consider all games played by when you vote otherwise we should change up the voting because the schedule doesnt really work with our current voting system.
Just my 2 cents, no throwing stones!
No I agree I was just saying that if there is alot of confusion that maybe it could be tweaked, but the system does workbuckeye76 wrote:We are all grown men, you get an email saying the polls are open, you get a thread on the boards stating the polls are open. Thats pretty damn fair if you ask me. Its worked for 22 seasons, I dont see reinventing the wheel on this subject.
