Boise St is the highest rated 1 Loss team? Not to knock Nole and his great season, but I'm scratching my head on this one.
If the season were to end today, Boise would sit ahead of MSU & UCONN; two 1 loss Conference Champs from BCS conferences...
I don't see a scenario in real life where that would ever be possible #imo
I have not looked yet, but Boise's SOS may have been better.
Again, I have not looked, just my first thought.
Although, Massey does not take SOS into account, does it? I thought I just read someone posting that it does not.
we've had this happen several times before
keep in mind the final/public vote will change at seasons end with more coaches using the whole schedule and etc
in the grand scheme it doesnt matter who guys vot 4,5,6,7 and etc in the weekly voting since there's really no weight behind it. but when we do final poll, most often, a bcs team with a like SOS or greater, will end up ahead of a boise or non-aq team
if the non-aq school has a stronger SOS than all the other bcs schools then it gets close
for example...if VT ends up losing 1 and its out of all the 1 loss teams...even though they are from a bcs school, if they have the 66th ranked schedule on SOS, like the currently do, and a team like boise has the 33rd ranked SOS, alot of votes will put 1 loss boise ahead of 1 loss vt...which there is no right or wrong answer but boise is 100% qualified to be in that debate
conversely, between uconn, which projects a higher final sos ranking, than boise, the nod will 99% of the time goto uconn, the bcs team

the massey formula counts SOS in its calculations and then we also have an SOS component on its own merit

Bama may not have had a loss when some people voted. I know my rankings were off about 30 mins after I submitted it, but it all works out in the end

That's what happened.
Bama just lost 2 yesterday. Polls were open well before that.

I voted for Alabama as #1. Not trying to be super lazy, just made a mistake. I will make sure I put more effort into the last vote in the season (and my last two games

).

One of Alabama's losses was in week 14, this poll is only supposed to consider results for weeks 1-12. Also, the first loss came after the voting aid was finished.

Why is it ever week the rankings and post Dave or Block M have a comment about how I shouldnt be ranked where I am? I realize that this one has substance to it as I did lose to a sub 500 Colorado State but still, just curious?

Intriguing...
How about we make things interesting here... Maybe UCONN should make a lil trip to the Air Force Academy in Season 23

While we're at it, Block M and his Knights should pack their bags too

i mean nothing personal by it.
its just how i feel and i think its pretty much common sense that a 2 loss Air Force team shouldn't be in the top 15 nor should be getting 1st place votes. Massey has Air Force at 29 currently.
guys get caught up in the number or wins and losses and who starts off hot and just moving guys up or down rather than taking the time to create a fresh top 25 each week.
again... it has nothing to do with you personally, i would have said the same thing if it was shel or corey or anyone. i mean shit, i've been saying it about boise all year as well.

Hell, maybe EA actually got it all right... what are the odds that the craziness of NDL season 1 is going to be followed by this kind of craziness in the real season? I have to say that it's already on a good pace.

I only "complained" one week out of this season about Air Force being ranked where they are for much of the reasons Dave posted above.
If it makes you feel any better UNLV is even more wrongly placed than you are. They were bumped in the polls after a "marquee" win over Georgia Tech which was ranked 118th in the initial Massey poll.
So my complaints are not aimed at you, unless you're voting yourself #1, or Matt it's just simply absurd IMO.

k was just wondering.... and by NO MEANS is matt nor I voting me number 1... there was 1 occasion where i was undefeated and had a 1st place vote and thought i knew who it was, asked him and he said he had me at #3.... I had previously asked who that person was who voted me as number 1 in a previous thread and never got an answer... that week was funny now its just getting plain stupid.

it's because the aide wasn't updated whether the games were played after it was done or not, so Alabama was up there undefeated
...and the aide isn't hard to update, I did it for almost two seasons.
I realize things come up in life, but having a west coast guy update it when the poll opens at 9am is a little odd and someone could have filled in for him if we knew this ahead of time or at least notify people they need to step out of the box for this week's vote if it wasn't going to be updated

Shut the fuck up man. Seriously. I didnt know he was out when I voted and it was obvious it (the aide) wasnt updated. So i took it upon myself to go and do a little research.
You've never had to seriously be responsible for anything in your spoiled life.
Its not your job to keep people in line around here. This is video game football and Wasik just had a damn kid, AND STILL DID THE AIDE.
Grow up man
