I don't think they thought I was abusing it, but again who knows I can't get inside other peoples heads. I was just asking for a general consensus,I have UAB I would like to get positive reports so I can get a team of my liking at some point. :)
most guys like to use subtle suggestions, like that, as non-combative ways to say 'stop being a fucking a cheeser'.
True, but like he said and showed the pic of the play art, they're actually incorrect as you can have a guy moving at the snap if it's one of those green routes.

Obviously we wasn't there and who the hell knows in this specific example, but I just think in general, guys are way too uptight about gameplay and too many guys in our league get mad about any and everything for no good reason nowadays.

+1 for me.

When I play guys like Dak and his no huddle offense, personally, I like it, because it is different.
I know we just had a thread talking about this same thing, but I agree with shel that there are too many guys that need to play a vanilla opponent.
I enjoy facing something new.
Now, with that said, my style of offense is vanilla, but that is how I play. Not just for this league.
I have always had a motto of play football, not NCAA or Madden. I play for the love of the game, not to find the AI flaws and exploit them.

Mix it up, have fun, but as a few have told you, moderation is the key. As BFiVL stated, in video games, it is always going to be a little different than in real life, because of the AI flaws.

Jake, someone asked it and you never answered, but were you running the same formation the entire time?
If so, I agree with your opponents. You have to mix it up.

You have to mix up the running and passing and also your formations and your routes.
There doesn't have to be a 50/50 mix. Some teams are run heavy, some are pass heavy, but mix it up.

I always think to myself, what if I was playing against me, would I be happy to see what I am doing as my opponent?

And UCLA, Come on Man!
I know you were playing devil's advocate, but don't even put that shit out there. Sure, it may become easier to cover something if someone is doing the same thing all game, but who would want to face that? I do not see that as an enjoyable game at all.
And, I remember trendon saying with his team, he cannot stop a pass over the middle, so with some teams, no, it may not become easier to defend against a specific thing even though it is done all game.

Yea, he seemed to miss the point that it really has less to do with being able to stop it and more to do with just enjoying the game and not wanting to face the same plays/types of plays over and over.

When I think of AJ' style, subtle isn't one of the words that comes up for me.

If I wanted to face the same play over and over and in turn run the same defense over and over, I'd play East Room. And for the record, there are a few plays that have a ridiculously high success rate even if the defense knows what is coming. It's always been that way and it always will be. Running that crap repeatedly doesn't have a place in the NDL.

Guys I agree 100 percent that running the same thing over and over or using money plays on third downs over and over is stupid. But I also agree that some of us (and I will comment on my past expierences here) also have a tendency to run the same defensive calls on certain situations. For me personally I try to change my offense to what the defense is showing. Example being that if I know a guy likes to blitz. I am going to tend to not run alot of play action or deep routes. But then after the game that coach may say hey why didnt you throw it deep all you did was throw it deep and thats cheesy. But in reality I took what the defense gave me to be succesfull. Now I didnt run the same play or even same formation but I didnt throw deep because I couldnt based on the defensses here was showing me.

I will say this, I havent ran accross a coach in the NDL that is anywhere close to what you would find in a pick up game in the east rooms or what not, and if you think there is someone like that in here, go play an east game and you will find out your dead wrong.

Irony: A coach who kicked people out of his league for beating him, saying that some coaches are bad sports when they lose.
