I can't argue for Cole to win the hitter of the year in the PL, but having Lopez coming in second ahead of him right now is insane. That's like voting Adam Dunn hitter of the year because he hits a lot of home runs. Terrible average and OBP, much worse in VORP, OPS+, wOBA, RC/27, etc.

I'm assuming we can complain about this voting even if we don't complain about other NDL voting.

well, If Lopez had 50 more walks he would be right there with Cole in all those stats.

Another case of not trusting ratings all that much.

I spoke with quite a few guys inquiring about trading for Gibbons, mostly because of his hitting abilities obviously.

But a couple of guys while talking noted his fielding ratings and they were a bit weary of taking him on at 3B or SS because his ratings aren't very good.


But in actuality, it looks he's gonna finish up 2nd for a Gold Glove at SS.
