Dave - not sure if you have a laptop that you take home, but download whatever movies you want during the day. Plug your ipad to itunes tonight and then go under Rentals and move them over.

Depending on the size ipad you have, but you should be able to get about 4-5 hd and 6-7 non HD movies on it depending. Rentals only last 30 days so you should be able to load them up and have some for the return trip. Once you start a rental it only gives you 24 hours to finish the movie so beware of that as well.

i don't even know how to download movies

i have a tv on my flight with like 300 movies to choose from. not ideal but i'm sure i can find a few. but i'd prefer to get Breaking Bad and a few other movies i actually want to see.

how many movies can i download on my iPad realistically? i have the ipad 2 and its the 64 gb.

mostly chick flicks that will disappoint.

As far as storage....It all depends on the length and quality of the movie, but standard definition movies are typically 1-1.5GB and high definition ones typically range from 1.75-2.5GB. I'll let you do the math.
