I mean occasionally if in need a diagonal punt I can see it... But the guys who do it every time drive me nuts. Always the same dudes tho

If EA fixes punting where shitty punters can punt it longer than 35 yards without giving up 20 yard returns more than half the time, I'm game to stop. Better teams already have advantages, no need to give them one due to EA's broken system.

Uconns punter sucked... I kick it slightly higher than default and my guys get there and I don't give up as many return yards

Yep, playing an entire season without allowing one punt to be returned isn't realistic

either is giving up 20 yards a return.

yes, but your gunners probably get down there a hell of a lot faster than mine did.

Last year on a normal punt, max strength down the middle. The returner would catch it and get 10 yards MINIMUM before ANY of my players made it to him. He makes 1 miss and has 20 at least.

If I ever take points off someone's score, it will be because of the line drive punts. If it was realistic, 80% of college teams would do it. Its a gimic in the game that is really lame.

Really? Dang, kinda lame to be docking people points for that I think. At least talk to your opponent about it before the game so they know. Personally I've seen plenty of punters, granted most a lower levels of college football, kick it low and for the sidelines the majority of the time.

guess you are the minority in doing it though. I had perfect or near perfect coaches reports the last 3 seasons and always did low punt unless they countered with 2 man back safe return in which i tried to blast it low over their heads. Maybe in big conferences you guys play different, but low punts were the norm among conference USA shit teams like myself.

I havent docked points yet. Just saying that if I ever did, it would probably be because of line drive punts.

I think your right on, if I have a punter with a strong leg I'll be hanging my punts high every time and hoping to crush the returner in the open field, but when your punter is rated in the 60's or worse you might as well take a knee on 4th down instead of trying to kick it deep.

I've been having issues w my returner moving out of way when I fair catch and ball bouncing an additional 15 yards... Anyone else?

When I played with Navy last year, the lower sideline punts were almost a must. A normal punt resulted in a net punt of maybe 20yds, every time. Even worse, if my opponent had a decent speed returner, he could get the edge and be gone without much effort. Punting was incredibly different with a lower level team. This is one thing I was hoping that they fixed. HS kids around here are consistently punting 40yds with reasonable hang time.

I do the line drive diagonal if I'm inside the opponents' 50 and I'm trying to pin them deep. Other than that I just boot the hell out of it and hope.

Call the fair catch later... I noticed it was happening when I called fair catch way before the ball was near me

Good to know. Thanks. I'm used to Madden 12 where sometimes it wouldn't register if you called it later. Glad that is fixed.

Anyone know a better way to align defenders? Say I'm blitzing with man coverage and my FS is manned up on a receiver who is across the field. I want to be able to make that FS go over to the receivers side. If I hit triangle + left on the stick, it just switches assignments and now my MLB might be on that receiver. Does it make sense what I want to do? Any ideas?

Or even if my safety is lined up with a receiver on the same side, I want that safety to come down, even if it tips my hand. I can disguise coverages this way too. I'm thinking maybe show blitz would do that.

instead of show blitz, isn't there a man allign option on that same screen?
