Whatever the newest version is, downloaded directly from the AIM downloads section on their site. When I do what you just said it opens AIM and then nothing, so no "box that asks me to check the groups I want to import" like it previous versions

I am on 7.5.14.8 and it works just fine for me.

Downloaded older version and I can load the list fine there, so we're good to go. Tig just go to http://www.olderversion.com if you can't get it to work, load the list, then go back to using the new version of AIM

Hey thanks man....but I have to be honest I am totally stupid with this stuff. What am I to do with that site? and do I need to uninstall the AIM I currently am using?

Keep the AIM you have now. On that site (here's a better link Old AIM) just download I'd say anything 6.9 or older and then when you install it you can load the buddy list. I went with 5.9.3861 to be exact. Once you load the list then you can go back to your original version of AIM and it will be populated

You should be fine with 7.5.14.8 or older.

I am on 7.5.14.8 and it works just fine for me.

I will have to remember this going forward though. I can always download the latest aim and then make the list going forward.
I have my aim setup to automatically upload to the newest version though and it has not told me of any updates recently.

My AIM updated last night. Did the list import today and no issues.

It says 7.5.14.8 is an older version, but was released just on May 31

When I click on Help-->About AIM on mine it says "AIM for Windows Version 1.0.1.2"

I updated the list with mbyrd75, an old NDL vet, used to be Fatmatt back in the day.
He is the Baylor coach.

The first post has been updated with a link to the new file.

I kept trendon in the list and put him under the "Others" group.

I was trying to figure out who mbyrd was.
