Hey let me vote myself #1 this week or next, Kinda just like Hawaii did.
The POLLS mean dick cause no one really votes the same or the way they should, Its all favorites. But to cry about like a bitch is also pointless.
The same crap happens in real life too. It all works itself out though in the end. The Hawaii thing is a little(and I stress a little) understandable. Guy took over the team and put in a lot of games quick and rallied off like 5 straight wins or something. They were not really noteworthy wins but I can understand the hype, esp. from the coach. I voted before they lost that first game and I gave them a little love, top 12 or so I believe. Unfortunately voted Alabama #1 too, voted before they lost.
Which leads to this...Who is the number 2 team? I believe Oklahoma is #1 now, but second place is tough....
Michigan State- All lopsided wins except for their only real test and that was a Notre Dame that hasn't lived up to expectations
Wisconsin-Ohio State, If they ever play their game the winner will have a good argument
UCLA- Haven't had a real test yet, but the remainder of their schedule could just about guarantee a Championship appearance if they win out.
Baylor- undefeated but seem to be having trouble pulling things out- Oklahoma game will tell the tale
USC- nothing notable yet, defense seems to be lacking- Last game of the season is UCLA, would be nice to see both come in undefeated
Georgia- 3 BIG wins, no real tests until the SEC championship game if they keep winning
Florida- Need to get some games in
Texas A&M- Wins against Alabama and a tough Arkansas team- See them facing Georgia in the SEC title game
Virginia Tech- We all know this coach can play. And he has that defense running on all cylinders. The result of the Florida game will be big...
Tough to tell this early in the season..

LOL yeah, this is all fun stuff. I didn't even come close to voting myself #1 (I'm sure you have connections w/ Homley or whoever that can confirm) and laughed out loud when I saw it.
Anyway, this was all in fun for me and I thought it was over when he brought up the vote delay and I blushed

and said I stand corrected. Seems like this might be something S33M has had on his mind for awhile now though...
Personally, while the polls are a mix of personal favorites + personal level of respect for coaches + record + misc - I think that's EXACTLY what it supposed to be!

I love the poll system and think it works great. As a top tier team, you are well respected usually and can afford a loss (or two) and still stay ranked. A mid-tier team has to almost dominate to get up there, and a lower-tier team has to be perfect to even be considered... sound alot like the real deal to me.
Well done guys and Thanks! (everyone who contributes to the NDL polls/write-up/etc.) - I'm having a blast!

TAMU or USC... both are ridiculously good users, and have very solid teams that could contend for a title. (I've also played both guys this season)

I forgot to vote but had I did vote I would have had Oklahoma #2 actually, and Vtech #1 l believe he entered the preseason polls at #2 after playing in his 3rd straight bcs championship game.
Is still currently undefeated I believe as well..
But really polls during the season doesn't mean much to me in the large scheme of things, because I have always wiped the slate clean sort of and looked at the entire resume of a team when doing the finals polls.. And evaluated the team then on who they beat, when they beat them, when they lost, if they are currently hot. whos the coach, who are the coaches they played. etc..
I have never believed in ranking teams in the very last week of the season based on where they were the prior week.. I know not everyone agrees.. and we have agreed to disagree, but that is me.
but for some polls, for those who do rankings based on where you were prior, I guess it does sort of matter a little as the season gets later.
But week 6 I m pretty sure it is not gonna impact anything in the end.

Hey NOOB STFU
Enough!
Buckeye already told you to take a breath and the rest of you, drop it already.
Just let it go and let's move on.
In fact, I am locking it up now.
Sorry.
