What do you want for Christmas?
Re: What do you want for Christmas?
18 days off..
Re: What do you want for Christmas?
Things Ive asked for:
-Long sleeved cold-gear shirts for work (OR gets cold as shit!)
-Sawzall
-Sound bar for the TV
My wife and I adopted a dog as an early gift to her, so she's taken care of
Thought about getting a PS4, but seeing as I just got a couple games through Uuaww for the PS3 Ill wait til I get through those before making the plunge. I figure if there are any bugs in the system they'll be worked out by then, and I wont have to search daily for systems available

I vaguely remember hearing some rumblings at the initial release about there being some issues (I honestly cant remember what they were though). Did that turn out to be BS?ajalves wrote:system has been out a month. no bugsWeasel wrote:. Re: What do you want for Christmas?
bent HDMI ports and some failures less than 10% of all systems sold I believe. Other than that, game crashes due to programming that have been patched just like any PS3 game.Weasel wrote:I vaguely remember hearing some rumblings at the initial release about there being some issues (I honestly cant remember what they were though). Didn't know what it was, but due to the word "saw" being in there, didn't think it was worth a Google.Cnasty wrote:Had to google.Weasel wrote: -Sawzall
Re: What do you want for Christmas?
I try to do all of my own home improvements and have had to borrow my dad's a few times, figured it's a tool I know I'd use and would be good to have. In particular, I get bushes/vine/weed that sprouts up along my chain linked fence, occasionally engulfing the links. Sawzall is perfect to cut it out, occasionally cut through the chain, and get the bulb mass out below ground level. I never know what to ask for as gifts, tools seem to make sense

Another $430 gone into the car today.shel311 wrote:I just had to buy a new car battery about an hour ago. I don't think I've thought of buying a car battery in 10+ years, I was expecting $60 or so.
Most expensive battery on the shelf, yea that's the one my car needs, $150
Bah humbug!!!
The battery is no biggie, understandable. Other than maintenance stuff, this was the 1st time in 6 years I've had to have my car looked at for something. It was a nice run, but the $600 spent this week makes me forget about that streak.
Re: What do you want for Christmas?
This spring, we were looking at cars to replace my wifes old escort. We had one picked out, and were planning on buying it when we got back from our Eurotrip. The night before we leave, we visited the in-laws, before leaving I noticed a flat tire in the driveway. Not ideal, but no biggie I think. My father in law offered to take it in while we were gone, and drove us home.shel311 wrote: Another $430 gone into the car today.

Get back from vacation to a $500+ bill. He had the tire replaced, but the mechanic also suggested a shitload of other things needing fixing/replaced, so he had them do that too. We got rid of the car less than a week later.
