these guys in the personnel pool who are "below average" or whatever the rating is should be retired
That sounds like a great winter meeting topic!

May not even need to be a winter meeting topic. Billy, should this go to a vote or can you just et rid of the fair and poor reputation guys to open up for more inexperienced/unproven guys to get their chance. I don't think the 60 year old guy who has a fair or inexperienced reputation is going to get any better.

why aren't there enough coaches/scouts/trainers/managers to go around.
any that are any good at least
AJ is old
there is no doubt about that but not sure how its relevant
We had this chat very recently
You likely remember hiring coaches when you could see their teach hitting, teach pitching, handles players, handles veterans, handles rookies. At that time you very frequently saw outstanding, excellent, great ratings. Now all of those are hidden and you just see the Reputation which is largely based on win loss record. There could very easily be a coach with a great reputation but low personnel ratings and vice versa. Hiring coaches is largely a crapshoot but for managers and bench coaches player influence and relationships are important

I honestly wonder if the coaches, etc. are because we do not have them hired on minor league teams anymore?
Is that causing more and more guys to drop to unproven or inexperienced?

That definitely messes with it. I'm always hiring inexperienced/unproven guys to run my R or SA teams to help.

They're not "dropping" to unproven or inexperienced. They're that way until they have a few seasons under their belt and then won loss record will largely determine it from there. The not having to have coaches could have created a bloated personnel pool however. I can't recall but if there's a setting that dictatctes how many personnel are generated but if there is, then maybe that could be reduced

Sorry, that is more of what I meant Webby.
Since we are not hiring them, they are staying at unproven or inexperienced.
If we hired coaches throughout all of our organizations, they would be more experienced and more quality coaches would be available to hire.
That is what I was trying to say.

coaches def. improve when they work. The lack of good coaches probably has something to do with some guys not having any minor league guys. As long as we still can't hire away from organizations then it doesn't really matter.

Not hiring a scout until we go to ‘21.
Stupid game
But that OSA glitch thing is fixed. I know that is not the sole reason you are saying that but I don't think this is going to work out well
I still think OSA is light years ahead of our scouts in terms of accuracy.
This game is such shit and you are dead on so why not save the money?
Makes trading with me super easy as well.

We are broke for now, but have 6.4M coming off the books when we roll over and then 33M coming off after the 2070 season.
Hopefully some of our young ones are ready to hit our MLs by then and we can start being a .500 team again.
