i'd still want 'em. i've got bets with my wife and son's friend that orton will have a bigger year than both brady and Pmanning...is that too much to hope for?
anyway, here's my thoughts on the demo. i did not pre-order it so i got a real chopped up version and thus my elementary analysis...
- i know the game is a work in progress -
1. this my be the first version of madden, i'll actually play, in a long time...i mean, actually play cause it does look playable.
2. gang tackling feature wasn't as overdone as i thought it might be.
3. some cute little things about the game. like the snow getting on the camera lens and then melting (even though the snow was blowing away from the lens). the sideline animations of the coaches, players and even the chain gang measuring for a first down are also cute. i say cute cause they aren't necessary and might get old after playing the game a while but for now they're cool enough. overall the graphics look good though. the game speed is good. the tackling animations look good too.
4. WHY THE FUCK IS IT DALLAS AT THE GIANTS??? i mean, i'm no Arizona/Pittsburgh fan but i'd rather play with one of those two than the NFC East teams. I mean, could they give us two more Gump-ish qb's to play with? (sorry if i have offended...maybe it's the expectations of playing 2 minute qtrs with arizona and pittsburgh but getting 1 minute qtrs with these two teams)
5. Dallas' first drive...Barber gets hurt on first play. My first drive with the Giants and Jacobs gets hurt on the first play....lame
6. 1 minute quarters don't really give you a feel for gameplay. shame on me for not pre-ordering it.
7. Overall, as i said, i may actually enjoy playing this game that over the course of the years has turned me off more than two hairy men wrestling naked with porcupines in a tub of tarter sauce.

I'll put my 2 cents in here. I have been playing Madden for YEARS... This is easily the best version on the current generation of systems. I really like the speed of the game... it feels real, as opposed to previous years that had more of an arcade game feel do to the fast gameplay. It is nice to see they have taken to heart the feedback from the "sim" community and tried really hard to make the game that we want.
It is also extremely nice to see that you can no longer cover the entire field with a fast safety. If you cheat up toward the LOS, don't expect to be able to get back and make a play on a deep pass.
The change in ratings is a very welcome improvement as well. No longer will every player be almost equal. The superstars are separated from the average players now. Jamarcus Russell will now play more like himself and less like a future HOF QB. Dwight Freeney will now be able to blow by a slow, lower rated lineman just like in real life.
The game is still not perfect, and it has it's downfalls. The biggest issue is that the default for online ranked games is 5 minute qtrs with the accelerated clock. One drive will take a whole quarter and then some. I have heard this is being addressed though. For now, if you want an enjoyable experience play unranked 6 minute qtrs with no accel clock.

Playing QB is not his strong suit period. He should make a switch to cricket...hes a terrible QB.

Youngest starting QB in the league with the worst WR corps and possibly the worst OLine, coach fired midseason. Exactly what did you expect him to do last season???
And he still performed about in the same range as Flacco, and yet people act like Flacco had this AMAZING rookie year.

Hopefully this goes into NCAA next year..gotta have some reprecussions for reckless FS/SS play.

Purple and Gold glasses, BADASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And Nick, you are correct, and Russell is held to a higher standard. But it is quite ridiculous when 2 players have similar stats and 1 is ALREADY labeled a bust while the other is receiving Rookie of the Year votes don't you think?

A big setback for JaMarcus and the Raiders.
There best WR Chaz Schilens is hurt and will be out 6-8 weeks.
Yes, I did say there BEST WR CHAZ SCHILENS.

Shel JaMarcus Russel wont get it done in the NFL. Face the facts. You said it yourself he can not read the field. He can throw the ball a mile, so can Boller, but at the end of the day if yu cant read a defense your not gonna make it in the NFL.
Also the Raiders O line certainly isn't awful, they have had some outstanding run games the past few seasons.

It pains me to say this, but I think I like PLAYING this Madden game, more than the NCAA game! Oh, and for all you folks that miss the overhead camera view from a couple years ago (on NCAA), they have a wide/overhead view on Madden that NEEDS to be added to NCAA. Really like it.

Not many 23 year old starters can read the field well.
Are you saying that Elway knew how to read teh field when he completed 47% of his passes and had 7 TDs and 14 INTs his 1st year starting????
Please explain that. I'm guessing had you been around during Elway's 1st year, you woulda been saying the same thing, but saying that Elway was even worse.

Madden is a much better game than NCAA this year. Hell, Madden 2010 is the best football game since 2K5
