I've been through this with someone who was close to me. Its turned me cold to situations like this. I literally dont care. If people want to kill themselves with drugs and alcohol, feel free. I dont care. Am I a bad person for those feelings? Maybe.

Eventually these people have to want to help themselves or else nothing will change. The guy is a junkie, always will be. I feel for his kids and wife, thats about it.

has anyone here who's actually said they cant believe this, been addicted to something? just curious if people know how hard it is to quit.

I mean, most of the NDL probably smokes, but I bet you guys could quit that and fix it no problem right?

just curious, who said they couldn't believe it?

i've actually never once smoked or done any drugs .... but i know and have been around PLENTY of addicts and users and i've got enough experience in this situation to speak fairly confidently.

what im trying to say here is, unless you personally have been addicted to alcohol, you don't understand how hard it is to quit and how easy one little thing can cause a relapse

plus i dont know if it matters but I think its better that at least hes drinking and having fun, instead of drinking and being depressed/drinking alone...thats just me personally

have you ever supported someone who has been addicted? have you ever seen the nasty 2 sided monster that an addict is? the side that begs for your help, but in reality is just a bullshit ego boost for them when they know as soon as they get the chance they are going to relapse? when you give up EVERYTHING you have to help support another human only to have them shit on you?

how about his wife? go watch the Homecoming special on Josh and listen to what he put his wife/family thru and how much they stuck thru it for him thru those terrible times... and he fucks it up cause he wants to party and take body shots with some chicks? its called being a fuck up... everyone has mind power, you choose whether you want to be in control of it or not. fuck the pansy excuses, you can do whatever you want in this world. his wife sacrificed her hapiness and stuck thru it with him (even when it looked like his career was over) and then this??? he not only fucks up his rehab but with chicks? the guy is a loser and obviously an ego maniac, he has no respect for those who helped him, he thinks he "deserves" there help and pity.

well thats their problem to deal with, i dont think you should fret for a moment about it. she chose to be with him while he was doing all the bad shit

kdog, at what point do you stop then? i've been in the situation where i've given EVERYTHING i had (money, time, prayers, emotions) only to have the person make selfish decisions because they were weak in a moment that they needed to make a choice between right and wrong. I continued to stick by them only to continue to be betrayed. Lost tens of thousands of dollars and had my faith in people virtually crushed. I've spoke with many specialists and such about this and they all said that you have to draw a line in the sand at some point. it doesn't make me a bad friend/person cause i walked away... some people like the feeling of knowing they will be looked after and only until they reach that point where NOBODY is there for them do they realize what they have become.

i feel awful for the support system of Hamilton, its heartbreaking.

I do not have an answer to that Riccio. Some you give more than others before you just leave I guess. His wife has got to be wondering at this point. the kids are old enough to understand this.
I honestly saw this coming (just IMO) because he has not had a very productive year. I feel for his family more than I do him. I do not think anyone held a gun to his head. He is a weak human. The only difference is he is in the public eye and that sucks for him and especially his family and support system.

Ugh. Worst attitude for them to have and it is the number one reason why addicts fail. They surrender to a god. Removing everything else I think about religion and imaginary gods, this is the one area it should not fucking be in. PERIOD.

You can thank your god all you want for keeping you alive, but that should be it. Keep it at the door. I know. I sat there for almost two years watching these weak people give up, come on back, and then immediately get told that god forgives them. What the fuck good is that?!

Fucking A do I hate imaginary friends people, but it is even worse when trying to rehab criminals and addicts. BUt what does the heathen know, eh? I've only been there.

My uncle was a full-blown heroin addict. About a year or so ago he went to get treatment (hell, he was actually on that A&E show Intervention). After almost a full year of treatment he came back up to Boston and has been doing good, but you never know if he will relapse or what.

You seem to have issues with how and what people believe in this world (mostly negative)
so all I said was we will see in the end (if there is one) is all.
