Re: 2015-16 Offseason Transactions
I have a feeling my season is going to be like the Colorado Rockies until they introduced the humidor....Going to see quite a few football scores this season.
Re: 2015-16 Offseason Transactions
what exactly is your criteria?? No way I am seventh. Not playing half my games in my ballpark. Rank lineups next please. And lol, OOTP has Albany 1st and you have them 17th.trendon wrote:My ranking of best rotations with a number next to it that indicates what OOTP ranks the teams.

Re: 2015-16 Offseason Transactions
I think he's going off rankings only...which he should know this game isn't based on rankings only. My 5th starter is ranked only 30/32 (my scout has him ranked higher though), but he is 30-11 with a whip of 1.25 the last 2 years.Bernie32 wrote:what exactly is your criteria?? No way I am seventh. By rankings only, yeah, my rotation doesn't look to good. Flores was in the 70's before he got hurt...now he's like 42 or something. Hopefully he'll bounce back.

I assign letter values to players and then average them out; slightly weighted. I virtually ignore overall/potential.

I need to start doing this as I am starting to see it rarely matters.trendon wrote:I virtually ignore overall/potential.
The bad part of that is my scout is also assigning the ratings such as "avoid k's" and "home run power" which also seem way off.
Can we get rid of scouts and if we do, does it revert to OSA rankings?

Lots of red marks and bad letters for Sheltown's rotation, no doubt.trendon wrote:I assign letter values to players and then average them out; slightly weighted. I virtually ignore overall/potential.
I am liking my lineup this season, looks much better than last year's.

Re: 2015-16 Offseason Transactions
I am going to bring it up soon, but there are a multitude of ways to handle this. We have a lot to discuss this season as our three-year CBA (2011, 2014, 2017) is up this season and we will discuss them and then vote in the offseason.Cnasty wrote:I need to start doing this as I am starting to see it rarely matters.trendon wrote:I virtually ignore overall/potential.

YOu know the OSA ratings are still available right? Just don't look at your scout if you don't like him...Cnasty wrote:I need to start doing this as I am starting to see it rarely matters.trendon wrote:I virtually ignore overall/potential.

Fire him, don't hire a new one. Save the money lol.Seeitsaveit13 wrote:YOu know the OSA ratings are still available right? If we ditch scouts, what are our options? Just using OSA?

There ya go. You don't like your scout? Fire him. Look at the OSA ratings.

Re: 2015-16 Offseason Transactions
I would be really dissapointed if we got rid of scouts. I use them for everything in the game, have invested heavily in them, and build my entire team on them. They are not meant to be perfect as no scouts ever are. But if you take a look at my line-up it correlates pretty well.trendon wrote:I am going to bring it up soon, but there are a multitude of ways to handle this. Getting rid of them will remove a lot of the "suprise" in finding guys. Everyone will know what someones potential will be. I would suggest that you may want to research how the scouts get their ratings systems before we just get rid of them.

Please, please do not get rid of scouts. IF you do, everyone will have all the same info and points of view. It will get boring quick, at least for me it will. We are suppose to be simulating GM's. They have scouts and data. They take into account both and make a decision.

If you dont want to use scouts. Dont use them. Why would you penalize those of us who do?

There are a variety of ways to handle this, including keeping it the way it is. I will lay them all out once the season begins.Bernie32 wrote:Please, please do not get rid of scouts.
