No idea what the landscape of the game is like right now. I haven't been invested since I cashed out to pay for my car and refi my home. But, I can say this, if I had 2-3 other guys to put in the effort I did when I was playing full-time, our DFS income > personal work income.

Effort = Time
How much time are you talking?
I'd imagine you make double what I make so I can put in half the time and still match my personal income

There's 1 caveat with basketball, you must be online and active 30min before first tip. If you miss the lineup scratches, you won't be nearly as successful. However, if you are online and can make those quick swaps, while focusing the rest of your lineup on the stats from Basketball Monster, you'll win consistently.

Roughly... 3hrs per day. 2hrs of setup... 1hr of pregame prep. The setup could be done by 1 person and the last hour of adjustments done as a team.

I'm home most days around 6:30est, and otherwise, would have my phone's internet browswer handy on the other days.ReignOnU wrote:There's 1 caveat with basketball, you must be online and active 30min before first tip. So the question for you would be whether or not you can do the 1-2hrs of Excel work and initial roster stuff from the office.

Intriguing indeed.
With Shel's lack of free time and it doesnt sound like you are in for it again, this doesnt sound too promising but worth giving it a shot for $30 each.
I am assuming that we split the profits and we each bet different matchups because we would have to in order to be successful. Sounds like an orientation would be needed.

Depends on where I'm getting the numbers from.ReignOnU wrote:So the question for you would be whether or not you can do the 1-2hrs of Excel work and initial roster stuff from the office.
1. I wouldn't mind using this basketball monster site at work, but would definitely want to steer clear of the actual gambling site, which would be blocked any way.
2. Otherwise, i'm sure I could make it happen, but if the Basketball Monster site is blocked at work, then I may have trouble being able to access numbers to get into Excel...if I'm even understanding your process correctly.
3. I couldn't promise it all every single day, but would probably be pretty involved, especially if this things gets rolling.

Nowadays, my boys get stuff done on their own lol. And I'm home a lot with the wife working opposite schedules.
It's free with a $20 sign up on Draft Kings, pretty sure that's still available.Cnasty wrote:but worth giving it a shot for $30 each

Re: Fantasy Football Advice Topic
I'm not sure if I'd be up for a big venture into it... but let me think it over. I'll check out DK's latest game setup and see if there are any easy loopholes in it.
As for the sites... I was the same way Shel. I don't touch them from the office, only because I don't want any question about it. I'm sure it would be fine, but no need to risk it.
Excel work could be a lot easier now that Basketball Monster automatically does a lot of what I did.
Another thing on DK... I used to hate their site. I'd do the Basketball Monster deal, play a few games and withdraw the money, then go deposit it on Fan Duel, or maybe another site. FD is daily fantasy sports equivalent of Party Poker... all kinds of idiots that have no idea what they are doing.

Basketball Monster is not blocked at work. Assuming there is no gambling that even could be done on this site, if it's just a simple login, extract some kind of data into Excel to manipulate, that would be pretty money, and I could dedicate time to that.

Nick can do all 3 hours worth of the work

Re: Fantasy Football Advice Topic
there isnt really even 3 hrs of investment. probably an hour. You just run the numbers, find the best return of investment, make sure theyre all starting, check their opponents (defensive) and then enter and go enjoy your night.

Followed the promo link, signed up for Draft Kings, deposited $20. Before that it also automatically gave me a sign on/password for Basketball Monster, I think I got the full access as well.
No clue what to do now, will browse the site to become acclimated for now.

Re: Fantasy Football Advice Topic
PPR league, how much more valuable is Alshon Jeffrey over Roddy White?
I'm still trying to get Jeffrey. I have Martellus Bennett as my backup TE and flex guy. I also have AJ Green and Jeremy Maclin at WR and Brandin Cooks on the bench.
I was thinking of offering Bennett/Roddy White for Jeffrey. At first glance, I assumed Jeffrey was much more valuable, but doing a little research has me thinking maybe the gulf between the 2 isn't as big as I thought.
I'm thin at RB so my basic lineup goes Green/Maclin at WR, then either Cooks/White/Bennett at the flex weekly.
ETA: The guy also really wants Mark Ingram. He's my top backup RB behind Foster/Lynch, so I guess I could do Bennett/Ingram for Jeffrey as well, that may be on the table. But if Foster or Lynch got hurt, I'd be in a world of trouble.
