Is it too much to ask for a W in game 5?

This is vintage 2008 Chris Paul. This Chris Paul is better than any PG in the league, without question. Love that guy.
Re: ***Official NBA Playoffs Thread***
Chris Paul is a monster.
I'm coming out with the Pau Gasol mattress. Soft was fuck. Billionaire. Bank it.

Why does no Laker fan ever call out Kobe? 2 close games. 2 games where Kobe wilts in the clutch.Matt90210 wrote:I'm coming out with the Pau Gasol mattress. Soft was fuck
Assassin!!!
ETA: Hell, Gasol had, at worst, just as good a game than Kobe did. If I'm not mistaken, in quarters 1, 2, and 4, Kobe had 3 points.
Re: ***Official NBA Playoffs Thread***
Kobe also outrebounded Gasol. Pathetic. Kobe, bad ankle and all, drives the lane, draws the double and dishes a beautiful pass to Gasol for an easy dunk and Gasol can't handle it. On that shot by Jack, Gasol didn't even offer to help with Paul driving. But you can't place the blame on just Gasol for this game. Odom had a bad game, as did Kobe.shel311 wrote:Why does no Laker fan ever call out Kobe? 2 close games. 2 games where Kobe wilts in the clutch.Matt90210 wrote:I'm coming out with the Pau Gasol mattress. There is no reason the Lakers shouldn't be dominating the Hornets with Bynum and Gasol. But Gasol is just a giant pussy and it's aggravating. If Gasol plays hard and goes strong to the basketball and actually attempts to rebound, they're fine.
The Lakers, regardless of what happens this year, are in big trouble. Age is obviously catching up to them. They should be fine getting beyond the Hornets (hopefully) and Blazers, but the Thunder will wipe the floor with them.

One possession after the Assassin missed a wide open 3 pointer down 83-80. Let's not forget that.Matt90210 wrote:Kobe, bad ankle and all, drives the lane, draws the double and dishes a beautiful pass to Gasol for an easy dunk and Gasol can't handle it.
I've seen it too many times, I'm not being fooled again. Hell, being 2-2 just makes me more certain that the Lakers are winning the West.Matt90210 wrote:The Lakers, regardless of what happens this year, are in big trouble.

1st player since the Big O in 1964 to go for 25/15/10 in a playoff game.
Also, Chris Paul led ALL players in Game 4 in points, assists, rebounds, steals, field goals, free throws, and three pointers made.

Re: ***Official NBA Playoffs Thread***
Paul was nuts last night. I really enjoyed watching that game.
As for calling out Kobe, I'm going with a 50/50 split on this one. He shouldn't have been on the floor. He didn't recognize how bad his injury was and he wouldn't come off of the court. Sure it's nice to be the hero, but if it's hampering your game that much, you have to do the right thing by the team and put the ego aside. He got smoked on the jumped ball run out, right after hurting it. So at that point, it should have been obvious to the High Chief that this wasn't going to end well. The 2nd set play off of the double high screen shouldn't have been called. I get that they wanted the same action that got the Pau break, but you're putting a helluva lot of faith in someone with a busted ankle, to make that cut, curl and pop the shot. It wasn't a bad look, but could have been much better.
As for the finish, the Lakers were going wild with help defense the entire 4th Q. Paul made a sensational play that really took advantage of the defense crashing in.
I heard an announcer last week say it best, Chris Paul is unstoppable, because to lock him down, you have to stop the entire team. IMO, if you're looking to build a franchise and you can't afford the holy trinity of stars, then you get Chris Paul and find a handful of good players to put around him. He is a difference maker. Period.

Howard, an Atlanta native, bantered with the crowd in his hometown, even coming over to the press table to exchange barbs with a couple of trash-talking fans in the third quarter.
"You're the biggest whiner in the league," one of them said.
"You wanna come out here and play me?" Howard responded. "I'm averaging 33 points a game. Just keep drinking your beer."

Re: ***Official NBA Playoffs Thread***
I want to know what Howard's shoulder workout consists of.
Anyway, saw a stat on SC this morning about the Heat's performance when down by 3 or less with under so many seconds to go in the game.
It read something like this:
LBJ: 1-8 (including last nights miss)
Wade: 0-5
Bosh: 0-283972893789342. Just kidding. But he was oh-for-something-less-than-Wade.
And Wade dresses better than all of them. ARGUE THAT SHELTON

Re: ***Official NBA Playoffs Thread***
dwight's shoulders are unreal, and i love that he cares more about his ppg than winning (based on that quote settle down you two)
Pau was better than Kobe last night, and maybe if Kobe wouldn't care so damn much about his shoe promotion they would have won the game. Bad ankles yet he wears low-top shoes because he wanted to standout, and a rolled ankle forces him to foul someone in the penalty and they would have tied the game on the gasol dunk instead of still being down 2
but in reality, fuck kobe. I hate him more than Lebron now, i think

So I guess Kobe doesnt taped eh?
and Im sure he's the only guy in the league wearing those shoes? Look at studies of ankles and shoes, you'd enjoy that you'll find some things out about shoes and ankles that you obviously dont know about.
Kobe DID not play well....PAU DID not play well.

Re: ***Official NBA Playoffs Thread***
Getting back to the DRose for MVP debate lol, but again, if we're truly going by who is actually more valuable to there team, Chris Paul(along with Dwight Howard) is definitely more valuable than Derrick Rose, IMO. I actually don't even think it's close really. Though, he wasn't a better PG in the regular season, this Chris paul right now is better than Derrick Rose at any point this season.ReignOnU wrote: IMO, if you're looking to build a franchise and you can't afford the holy trinity of stars, then you get Chris Paul and find a handful of good players to put around him. I just hope he can stay healthy. You can tell he still doesn't have that burst you used to have, and he's just picking and choosing his spots.
