No; the original "intrusion" was on Wednesday, and it snowballed from there. That said, Anonymous suspended their activities a few weeks ago, and they denied responsibility for this one. Besides, they were too busy going after New Zealand's government (they were supposed to hack their systems last night, not sure if they did or not)

In there stated denial, they said it was possible their members are behind the attack. Their words, not mine.

It wouldn't shock me if a few rogue members had something to do with it; that said they aren't about stealing info, they're about protecting people's rights and information.

so Zorro/Robin Hood is behind this?

It's interesting, I'll wait until people in the security industry break it down to see if it's legit. If it isn't legit, it sure is elaborate.

I didn't read it all but from what I saw they are talking about different sections of the PSN.

There is talk about the PS message system which uses Jabber.

Some talk about cfw which is custom firmware.

There is talk about the credit card info being in plaintext which means it isn't encrypted. I'm not sure if that means it is never encrypted or just not while in transit.

There is talk about some of the internal software being outdated and not updated. One of them says the PSN is huge and that may be the reason it isn't updated.

One of them was creating a fake ticket to get access to something (I didn't spend much time looking at it). I could be wrong but ticket might mean he was creating a cert to trick the server into giving him access to something.

Like I said, it's elaborate and well out of my league. I'll wait for the experts to chime in.

- Sony logs your time on the PSN/time playing games and pretty much everything you do on the PSN.
- Sony monitors in real time what you type on the PSN and has filters to monitor for certain words.
- They do not encrypt CC info.
- Their lack of security is turrrrrrrrrrrrrrrible.
- The system the PSN is built on is massive and the work required to update/improve that system would be a royal pain in the arse.
