unrelated, but I def. wonder if you could take a mediocre GM like Shel and place him with his current OOTP knowledge back in like 2020 season or early on if he would go on a run of domination against a bunch of newbies or he'd be the same.

who messed with him? trendon or bear? it also is worth noting that bear got rid of him after a few years of regression in his late 20's. bear doesn't exactly have the rep for a guy who would have taken the foot off the throat if he knowingly had the trump card.

I think he got rid of him to try and throw people off his trail. But that's just me. "I totally wouldn't trade him if I knew how good he was, now would I!?" Kind of thing.

the reason Thomas wasnt retired was because when Wu was retired, the entire league data file got fucked up so no one wanted that to happen again

also "mmm danone" is stuck in my head. so

this issue was discussed and i recall saying i would just release him and we could leave him in free agency which would have accomplished the same thing

And there were a lot of CPU teams then. One of those probably would have signed him. I think I'm starting to see why he got to keep playing though

it was as simple as 'hey reign, should i release this guy or should we retire him' and getting a no reply.

the discussion did go public (or in the admin) once because i do remember trendon or someone saying we can never retire a guy mid career or it will mess shit up. then we got into the free agent thing. then people ultimately said we should let him continue playing.

My biggest piece for mentioning it as we have had some turnover lately and i honestly think they should know some of the history.

I don't think I've smeared him so much as provided the facts we all know so they can make an informed decision.

Bear's first 4 or 5 posts are all justifications of how he couldn't have done it etc, without anyone actually calling him out, just people saying the guy seemed fishy.
