This is definitely a factor in it as I have hired a bunch of unproven guys for my minors and they immediately change to the next level after a season of experience.

But also many don’t care about managers/coaches since we voted on it a long time ago to make them optional.

Same. I basically only hire unproven and they always change for better or worse after 1-2 seasons

Reputation is almost exclusively tied to team won loss records so as far as managers and bench coaches, it means nothing. Influence and relationships are more important factors.

Team Doctors are a separate bird as frequently there are ones with say 15 years of experience but nothing listed in their history. They still may show a good reputation label so maybe they were just saving kids in impoverished countries during that time

AJ and maybe a few others possibly remember being able to see the coaches abilities (teach hitting, pitching, fielding, handle rookies, veterans) when signing team staff. They took that away now and while you may still have LEGENDARY teach (insert ability) coaches, only the commissioner can see that in the personnel editor. Hope that is a better answer for you

so if coaches have "lower" or less influence on my guys i am better off without a coach....seems dumb

They could still be better than no coach, I do not have that answer. But if you have below average or worse influence coaches, I would consider reaasinging them to another level or replacing them

Was looking at Duane Cook's history in NDL and noticed something odd.

Joined ASU Sun Devils in 2041.
Drafted in 2043 by Hillsboro in round 13.
Won DI-A Player of the week in 2053
Drafted in 2053 by San Antonio in round 3.

Edson back in free agency... free for all now... someone will get him.

Former player that had his same number never made the majors, got deleted from the file, and his player ID was recycled when Cook was generated.

Speaking as someone who has the money to sign him unlike some, he should be retired. It ain’t realistic and honestly unless Ted said something, a lot of people wouldn’t have even seen him.
