Re: Thug U vs Criminoles
Holy shit what a game.
That was unreal. One of the best endings EVER in any game.
I cant believe they made a stand at the goal line like that.
I will need to double my blood pressure meds if every game is like this. No idea how Im going to bed for work tomorrow.
Are you kidding me with this game???

Thanks fellas.buckeye76 wrote:mcx79 wrote:congrats Nasty!
But I gotta thank those guys on my TV. I just yelled, kicked, screamed, and did whatever I could to do my part on the couch with my Patron and beer.
Good game Nole fans. The rivalry needed this, the ACC needed this, and we will see where these teams go from here.
Set your TIVO for ESPN classic fellas, its gonna be a good rewatch.
Re: Thug U vs Criminoles
hindsight is 20/20, but why didn't FSU run that last play every time down there instead of the fade, option, & back of the end zone pass? I think Blackledge or Nessler even called it when they said they can't run a QB draw but maybe a run/pass option.

I was expecting that as well. He has the athleticism to run it in or make that pass option.Bernie32 wrote:hindsight is 20/20, but why didn't FSU run that last play every time down there instead of the fade, option, & back of the end zone pass? Im so impressed with Harris. Very impressive for most of the game. Still some mistakes, but hopefully he matures there.
Still in shock they didnt spike it,time out, something. They let the clock roll.

They should have called timeout when they got down to the 5, instead of letting 20 seconds tick off.

My fist, his face.
They shouldnt have squibbed it. Bailey can take a punch though.
No way I can sleep after that.
Funny addition, my boss graduated from FSU....he owes me lunch.

No they should have spiked it, you always save the timeout incase of a sack, fumbled exchange etc.

Agreed. Horrible time management by the Noles there.packsyD22 wrote:No they should have spiked it,
They were at the 5 with 50 seconds or so and they just mozied on up until Miami called a time out.

Congrats Corey. No words to express how much it hurts to drop one like that. I seriously think I am going to be sick.

Yea that is a horrible way to lose. Tough catch to make but catchable.
I hope this is a turning point for both programs for sure. Lots of young talent on O and D for both of these teams and I really hope there is no let down.
Not saying we will run to 4-0 through VTech,GTech, and OU but I was VERY impressed with this offense. The D needs those 5 guys back that were missing tonight.
One of the best in this series.

You need the TIME. You spike it, then it's THIRD down. You need the downs and the time in that situation. Then you still have the option to run it on that first play. You try to get as many chances as you can.

Re: Thug U vs Criminoles
Lemme ask you something..........if you call a timeout there and take a sack or run the option play on first down what are they gonna do on second and third down, spike it anyway or let more time run down.jsence2 wrote:No you don't.packsyD22 wrote:jsence2 wrote:They should have called timeout when they got down to the 5, instead of letting 20 seconds tick off.

You my good man are very wrong on this one. You always have a timeout in your back pocket on that situation with 3 downs to get 5 yards....not to mention they got the holding call. If its the last play of the game use your timeout and talk about a good play to run which FSU did, just an unfortunatele drop - missed pass.

Re: Thug U vs Criminoles
I agree with Packsy on this one. Get up to the line, spike it.
They took to much time to get up there and limited themselves on what they could call.
Save the TO and run that draw that was DESTROYING the Canes all night.I really thought it was coming again.
Man, I cant sleep. To hyped. Need some of Nick's "sleeping medicine".

Re: Thug U vs Criminoles
hmm should we trust jsence or the guy that coaches football? Hmm.
...but I think that was a clear statement of how Bobby Bowden should retire. Why the fuck did he/Jimbo have Xtian running to the sideline each play instead of having someone signal one in. That's such a lack of planning I can't even handle it, and it makes me think it's because Bowden is too old school.
...I've always rooted for FSU, so i'm not pleased with how he's lost such a good program (although i do love BB he didn't even look sad in the post game press conference)

Its because honestly he has no idea whats going on out there. Its sad to see with such a legend. There was a play when they didnt take the penalty and he asked his headset guy whats going on or why they didnt take the penalty.VeniVediV1ci wrote:(although i do love BB he didn't even look sad in the post game press conference)
Just him being there though is good for for the university. Doesnt really matter, Fisher is pretty much the coach anyways. Will be interesting to see who takes Andrews spot.

lol, I went 3 for 3 on the quote above I made at halftime.Nole4real wrote:FSU goes 10-2 next year and makes a run.
WR's are waaay too inexperienced right now.
Kendall Smith at Linebacker is going to drive me to Patron with Corey all year. gotta learn quick to not overpursue.
ah well, hopefully mickey is just biding his time to mix in some zone blitz and can force Harris to make one crucial mistake which we can take back for 6. dont see us getting enough mo to pull it off with out that.
anyway, gl canes....if Noles lose dont think I'm being a poor sport...I'll congratulate you fucks tomorrow...been up since 5 and feel like I just took a right cross from Deebo. gonna be knocked the fuck out right after the game.
Biggest obviously being what I said about wr's...keep in mind at one point FSU was up 23-17...FSU has the ball in Miami Territory...Ponder throws a PERFECT fade/streak to Fortson who dives/falls and drops the ball at the Miami 2 yard line.
If you missed it catch it on ESPN classic tonight when its replayed. That ball ABSOLUTELY has to be caught.
He drops it....Miami forces the fumble from Poner 2 plays later...Miami goes on to score.
Within a matter of 3 minutes we went from should have been up 30-17 to losing 24-23.
Despite all the 4th quarter heroics by both teams that killed me the most.
Anyway, congrats Canes fans. Gg indeed. Hope to see you again in Tampa on December 5th.
Corey dont forget beer is on you
