lol, sounds about right. dont you worry though..with the slightest glimmer of national prominence they, like sand people, startle easily but will be back in much greater numbers
truck stickers/decals, big jackets, alligator heads, hats...they will be
everywhere
in all fairness canes and noles also have their fair share of fair-weather fans but gators are particularly funny because you'll hear them say how much they love their gators through thick and thin but you'll see people with at least a 10-15 blue and orange wardrobe inventory goes years without ever wearing any
i love wearing my shit when we're not doing well

The other day at work we were joking about attire for work, and when it was said that shorts were acceptable, I jokingly said "what about jean shorts" to which they responded "only if you want to be a gator fan."
I had a good chuckle at that one

Good news for the rest of the Pac12, he did things at OSU that others will have a hard time doing. Is Riley a midwest guy?

UAB looks very unlikely to get a bowl, which is awful for those kids. That video that came out....the president was a total jerk to those players and didn't seem to give a damn at all about how it made them feel. I hate this for them.
Conference USA requires that all teams in conference sponsor football, so this might mean the death of not only UAB football, but their entire status as a D-1 program in other sports. They also have to add a sport to even be D-1 eligible, as they cut football, bowling (what?!), and rifle programs.

This is the oddest hire ever. Where did this come from?

I think its a great hire. He has done some great things at OSU but how does that equate on a bigger stage like Nebraska is always my worry in hires like that.

Was UAB losing money or not?

I think it is fantastic, not saying that. He has been coaching up mediocre recruiting classes for years and now he'll have a slightly better group of players. He did so much with so little in Corvallis.
I'm just shocked it wasn't Tressel. I would have put money on it if there were odds. I guess Nebraska got a OSU coach one way or the other.

Nope. You have to go back a couple Nebraska coaches to find the oddest hire ever.

Touche.
Boy did they "surrender to medicority!" I forget which year it was but, in the final three games, they scored 200 points and went 1-2.

I think the riley hire is odd in that, he has turned down some marquee jobs. I know USC one year begged him to coach them after Pete Caroll left. I wonder if he was getting tired of getting smoked by Oregon and seeing that he could upgrade to better facilities in a weaker conference was just too much to pass up.
