TCU and Baylor not having a conference championship and 3 bye weeks during the season should hurt them. I don't know if the playoff committee takes stuff like that into consideration. I haven't figured out what they take into consideration. It changes every week. I just heard on ESPN that Long stated that they hadn't even taken the head to head win by Baylor over TCU into consideration yet. How is that even possible?

The committee is supposed to take being an outright conference champ into consideration. It is part of the criteria they are supposed to use, as well as looking at teams that play in a conference championship game. Whether they do or not, that's yet to be seen. I'm going to sound like Jsence and Pengy on homer level here (just minus all the "we" and "us" remarks) but Ohio St. made a huge case for themselves last night. Should be interesting.

I hate saying this, not because I do not like FSU but more because I hate Winston, FSU should be the #1 seed. The only undefeated team out there.

#1 FSU
#2 Alabama
#3 Oregon
#4 Ohio State

However, it will probably look more like:

#1 Alabama
#2 Oregon
#3 FSU
#4 TCU

Here's where the committee's criteria for their rankings can become tricky. If they're ranking them based on how they're playing now, it's probably Alabama, Oregon, and TCU/Ohio State/Florida State in some order. But the problem is that they won't be playing next week. They'll be playing in three weeks and we all know how that long layoff between the championship games and the bowls can affect teams both positively and negatively. So do they now rank them based on their potential in three weeks using the accumulated data from the season to do that?

Semi-relevant tangent: Given that Gordon is generally perceived as a sure fire Heisman finalist and given their respective performances against Ohio State, does Tevin Coleman now at least get an invite to the Heisman ceremony?

I've read another interesting scenario. If the Big 12 gets left out of all this, they may scramble to add two more teams and have a conference championship. I'm sure Boise, BYU, Cincinnati, and others would kill to get in before all these new Power 5 rules really start to have their effect.

TCU got beaten in three different ways even though they won:

- Their SOS decreased by playing 2-9 Iowa State who is now a 10 loss team.
- One of their "good wins" (Minnesota) looks less impressive given how bad Wisconsin got beaten by Ohio State.
- Another one of their "good wins" is diminished by their loss to Baylor.

**Edit** - Oklahoma losing at home to a mediocre Ok St team didn't help either.

Should be Ohio St.

In a perfect world they would have a 6 team playoff with the top 2 having buys and the better seeds hosting the first games before the bowl games are used to settle the final three games.

The U part 2, next Saturday. The first was so good that they should have stopped there as it will be tough to beat.

Something we all knew already but a funny clip

That Miami team that beat Nebraska in the Rose Bowl (2001?) was the best College football team to ever play.
