they took him out in the 3rd with like 40 seconds left. b/c they did that they couldn't bring Collins back in the game in the 4th so if Haine had got hurt they were out of qb's.

also, they ran the ball on the last 2 plays in the 3rd.

Cowher and the CBS crew were just talking about it and RIPPING the Bears coaching staff for messing that up

He wasn't coming back in he was just as terrible. It's a reach to say "if" he got hurt.

Can't play for ifs with a superbowl on the line.

I understand it but don't think its that horrible of a call and deserves a ripping.

you can't use your emergency QB before the 4th quarter. if you do the backup is not eligible to return.

(or something along those lines)

No, it's absolutely horrible since they didn't even throw a pass in the 3rd quarter with the new guy at QB, IMO.


It may or may not be a reach to say if he got hurt, but if you put the 3rd QB in late 3rd and run 2 times into the 4th, you completely lose any chance of having a QB play if the 3rd guy gets hurt.

There was zero reason to take that chance.
