i just want them to punish bama for there stupid scheduling. We had way too many weeks this year with nothing but crap games. when you play an 8 game conference schedule and your hardest noncon is duke? thats shit. if you want to play an 8 game schedule, then play 2 power 5 teams. I just want to see more awesome games.

Bama actually does usually schedule a big time non-conference game every year, unfortunately they can't predict 7 years out that team will suck like Florida St and I think USC was one they did as well. I also don't see the quality wins from Baylor. Who is their quality wins against? They schedule the worst non-conference schedule nearly every year and its kind of a big running joke amongst college football reporters and has been for a long time

Not saying they're great quality, but Baylor has 2 wins better than Bama's best win.

I believe it's Okla St and K State, both in that 20-25 range. Again, not great but also again, 2 better wins than Bama has.

Bama obviously has the best loss, but the best loss shouldn't trump 0 losses and 2 better quality wins IMO.

But Bama had a weak OOC schedule too, and Baylor still has better wins than Bama.

All of today's talk everywhere mostly centers around Bama/Georgia and Baylor/Minnesota.

Utah is just sitting quietly hoping no one notices their ranking. How in the world are they ranked over Baylor?

They've beaten no one, best win is over 5-4 Ariz St, and they lost to a 6-4 USC squad. How exactly does that equate to a better ranking than Baylor...no idea.

my coworker was arguing that bama should get in over an Pac 12 champ Oregon. both with one loss since Bama beat Auburn and Oregon lost to them. I told him that would be the absolute worst case scenario b/c that would be actively punishing oregon for scheduling auburn in the first place.

If Bama runs the table they get in, even if Georgia beats LSU in the SEC championship game (3 one loss SEC teams and LSU being the sole one left out). The committee will use the Tua injury as the reason.

Billy, I wouldn't count the Gophers out. I've watched 3 of their games now and they are pretty damn good, mainly because they play disciplined football.

Sheluck will happen and it'll happen because....well, BAMA

I hope it does, it may get us to a scenario closer to what Dave posted with 8 team playoffs

I hate Bama but does anyone actually think they weren’t one of the best 4 teams every year since they started this? Not talking about this year, let’s see how it plays out but I can’t think of a single year that they should not have gotten in.

The reason we got the 4 game playoff was because Bama got in the championship game against LSU when there were more deserving teams.

Just because they are one of the best 4 teams you still gotta beat the teams on your schedule. Do you leave off an undefeated team from a power 5 conference because they don't pass the eye test like Bama does (talking Baylor here). I hope they do, because I want the playoffs expanded

I'm not saying you should have to get to the conf title game to have a chance, bu it creates a huge issue when Bama can sit at home with essentially a bye, Georgia earns their shot at the SEC title, loses to LSU then Georgia falls below Bama.

if i'm being honest and was ranking teams, if I have 1 loss Georgia ranked ahead of Bama, then once Georgia loses the SEC Title game to the #1 team in the nation in LSU, i'm still keeping 2 loss Georgia ranked ahead of Bama. Obviously using those teams in the specific scenario but would do the same generally speaking in other examples. Short of getting absolutely blown out or something weird, I'd still rank the losing team ahead of the team not in the title game, just like I did before the title game.

Didn't Ohio State win the B1G Conference game? With the same record you have to go with the championship game winner over someone that didn't play. Like Shel said, it's essentially a bye

That was their 6-7 year due to infractions. Can't remember who was left out and don't want to look up anything else now

Ohio St wasn't involved that season, it was 2011.

That season Oklahoma St finished 12-1 and won their conference, and they took 11-1 Bama over Okla St...and cost LSU a championship and made them suffer the ultimate embarrasment of a title game...but I'm not bitter!!

Ohio State star DL Chase Young will sit one more game and then be eligible to return for the rest of the season

"lets just say it moved me... TO A BIGGER HOUSE"

LSU has 3 of the top 5 rated CFB games this season, as well as the top rated cable CFB game this season.

The LSU-Bama game was the 5th highest rated regular season CFB game in the last 25 years, and it did so as a afternoon, not night game.

My takeaway - America loves them some Joe Burrow
