I don't see what the huge deal is with the coach chewing a guys ass for taunting. Obviously you don't wanna say "I'll fucking kill you." but I have heard way worse said behind the locker room. The media is the worst sometimes.

I'm just glad the article cleared up something I was unsure of:
Stallings told ESPN "he did not mean his words literally" when confronting Baldwin,

I agree. My first coach at ISU was hardcore old school. If half the stuff he said had been recorded and broadcast he would have been arrested for hate crimes.

I mean sorry he tried to discipline his kid for taunting....how dare a coach try and show some tough love on that subject. Kid is prob gonna run a ton of suicides for it as well, wonder if the media thinks that's too harsh a punishment.

"@bkravitz: Haven't talked to Fred Glass but firmly believe Tom Crean is coaching for his job Saturday against Michigan State.”

So this rumor is circulating on the IU premium boards.
"Tom Crean and his wife want out of IU and Bloomington. He and his agent have been in negotiations with IU to let him out of his contract, and it appears from my one remaining source in the Athletic Department that Crean will be leaving to take another position which appears at the time to be at a smaller college. Look for an announcement right before the BT tourney or right before the NCAA's that says Crean has accepted another position or if it falls through, that he's leaving for personal reasons. It's also being negotiated whether Crean will be allowed to coach in NCAA or NIT should IU make either.

I don't see him bypassing the 11m buyout in his deal, do you? Even if he does want out, that's a ton of money to give up.

If you could have your pick of possible candidates, who would you want? I feel like IU could still be a powerhouse given the right coach.

If Crean is gone, they'll try to make the basketball equivalent of the Jim Harbaugh hire with Brad Stevens. If not him, I'd imagine Gregg Marshall will get a call and possibly Archie Miller.

Gotcha. Wasn't sure other than he was from Indiana and coached at Butler, didn't know if he had negative or positive ties to IU

In the past he's been quoted as saying he grew up an IU fan and that IU was his dream job. But we all say things.
