We know nobody will de serious time but those are the charges

Random question for Peay. I've read on here about your sons basketball skills. Is he a D1 type kid? Just wondering if any of this stuff has extra interest for you

He can dunk though. I’m ready for him to get the first in-game dunk out of the way so we can focus on making more 1 and 3 pointers.

I don't understand why these kids go to college in the first place. If they are guaranteed to be a lottery pick, barring injury, why not just play over seas for a year and then go pro. This would force the hands of the NCAA and NBA to allow for high schoolers to join again. And then we can have a more pure (if it ever can be) NCAA game

You just said why.

Unlike you who enjoys the fine cuisine of Jordan, or an Iraq McDonalds, most of these kids don't want to go over seas.

They are kids. They also know if they go to college they get hot chicks, free stuff, and don't have to worry about the actual college part. Seems fun to me.

They could be paid 6 figures for playing over seas. If they get hurt there they at least made some money. Get hurt in practice prior to the season and they get nothing if it's a career ender. I'm not saying go play in the middle East but go play in Europe. Met a SEAL that did that out of college before joining the Navy and he raved about it. Said he wishes he was a little better to continue playing in Europe

Again, we are talking about 18 year olds here and why do that when you are getting deals like the ones being investigated here?

Maybe we will see an increase in that in the future seeing how this plays out but i highly doubt even something like this will change anything as this has been going on for decades.

Also, the marketability factor.

Ben Simmons, granted the injury didn't help, is much more marketable now by playing college ball for 1 season as opposed to going overseas and play games 7 minutes a game somewhere.

This got me thinking...schools get busted for recruiting type scandals here and there with probation and what not.

But when was the last time a school was busted for giving money to a recruit, or funneling money like in this fiasco?

We always hear and see pics of guys driving cars insinuating they were paid for by universiities, but when's the last time a school actually was busted for that?

based on his average yearly salary of 5.2 mil not including the 2.4 from Adidas his 10 days salary = @ 142k. That just may be enough to retain a good attorney to help get him out of neck deep hot water and keep it at waist level for a while.
