Re: PGA Tour 2k21
George... look at my last round scorecard in your Beer league.
-3, 68... with 3 bogeys and a quad! I banked it off of the rocks in the creek 2x on 13.
I did shoot an -8 and -10 in rounds 2 & 3, which puts me in the -9 wheelhouse that was my next goal for these settings. But I want to be doing it consistently before moving up. Right now, it's a course-by-course basis. If putting is relatively easy, I can score big. When we get on courses with circus putts, I really struggle with proper ball placement and just making 8'-10' putts. (even lagging 40' putts so I don't 3 putt)

Re: PGA Tour 2k21
One thing I'm pretty sure I realized today... I don't really look at the marker on splash shots. I look at the club face. For some reason the marker rarely seems accurate even if the ground is level. I'll look at the club face and I've seen it way open and even seen it overly closed on a slightly closed lie.

Re: PGA Tour 2k21
I'm assuming the original NDL league will go up in settings after a couple of "seasons" and I will do the same. The old settings were hard at first and then I got to the -18 or better a tournament and it was getting too easy. I did use putt preview in my PGA tour so I could understand where to aim when in the NDL league...that helped a lot. Haven't used that in 2 weeks or so now, even the offline tourReignOnU wrote: ↑Wed Dec 22, 2021 3:55 pm George... look at my last round scorecard in your Beer league.

Re: PGA Tour 2k21
Dan said he was -3 thru 14. I finally got something obtainable to shoot for. I'm sure as soon as the first hole is over I will be slapped in the face with a +3. At least I have a shot before the first stroke is counted

That course was pretty difficult. Shot a -2, -2; and a +4 to end up even for the tournament. Was not shooting well this morning, even in the Beer League had a bad day putting.GeorgesGoons wrote: ↑Thu Dec 23, 2021 2:22 am Dan said he was -3 thru 14. Re: PGA Tour 2k21
I scored pretty well but saved a ton of strokes on putts and chips that could have very easily gone the other way. I figured there wouldn’t be many super low scores on this one. Toughest course we’ve played so far because of the greens.GeorgesGoons wrote: ↑Thu Dec 23, 2021 2:19 pmThat course was pretty difficult. Shot a -2, -2; and a +4 to end up even for the tournament. Re: PGA Tour 2k21
My problem really wasn't the greens, it was my setup shot to the pin that left me forever away. If I get in the bunker I would always hit the top of the bunker rolled right back into the bunker

Re: PGA Tour 2k21
I was cruising along until the 9th hole on the 3rd round... had 2 birdies and an eagle on the front, things were looking great, then I had one drop off of the back right of the green and go OB. So I correct further left on the next shot, still goes off of the back right somehow, but sits on the rocks. Apparently you are at the mercy of the golf gods there. Because my next shot goes 5'. Then 5' into a hill. Then about 4' into the top of the green. Closed the hole out with a 9 on 9. Yikes.
Learning really quick that it's better to be 200 out in the fairway than 160 out in the rough (because you're going to be hitting damn near 200 anyway).
Round 1 - Hitting in the rough early on the front 9 cost me 4 strokes.
Round 2 - Great round, everything was clicking, I was finding some nice flat areas to hit from too, which helped a ton.
Round 3 - The epic 9 on 9 and I struggled a lot with side hill lies, which made it harder to land the green exactly where I wanted.
A lot of character on the courses we've been playing. Each of the last 3 have really had their own "elements" that made them unique.

They won’t let you use the words “Pebble Beach” or really any famous course names.Whittness10 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 24, 2021 8:00 am I tried posting in game “Pebble Beach is on my bucket list” and it said it was caught by the profanity filter… what???![]()

Go in the water on 17, they make you either hit from the tee box again or drop in the rough behind the gallery behind the green, instead of in a drop zone like it should be. Pretty stupid and unrealistic.

Re: PGA Tour 2k21
Important final putt for me on the last hole of the major today. Needed it for the -36, which is an average of -9 across the 4 rounds (and because AJ was sitting at -35). Getting better as I keep playing, but I'm still making costly mistakes and sometimes I'm too cautious. I didn't start getting aggressive with my approach shots until the last 2 rounds. I was consistently leaving myself short during round 1/2. Putting was fairly easy on this course, so that was to my advantage. Another 2 weeks of play like this and I'll probably start trying to putt w/o the meter.ReignOnU wrote: ↑Wed Dec 22, 2021 3:55 pm

I putted worse than I ever have or I may have actually gave Dan a run. Playing sober was a good change for me

Re: PGA Tour 2k21
I am so consistent at being inconsistent. In the Beer League I was shooting -9 thru 11 holes. After the 12th hole I was -2 and finished -1 I believe that round. And I had a 242 yard hole in one on the Barbados course (same course I shot a +7 in the NDL tourney)
Today my putting was horrible on Pebble Beach, seemed like a hole should have broke and it never did or when I am expecting it not to break as much the fucker breaks an extra 5 inches. I did have 3 puts hit the pin and bounce out, that was frustrating as hell.
