I wondered the same thing. Drew Brown has a leg on him. Although his long on the season was a 44 yarder I've seen him clear some FG's that would have been good from 50 yards. I did think the play calling was much better this game around. The defense played well enough to keep them in the game but bad enough to lose it as well, which has been pretty typical all season. But thought they did real well as this was probably the best offense, and quickest, the team had faced all year. Ameer is a beast, 269 all purpose yards.OracleHCR wrote:What did the Nebraska interim coach have against kicking a damn field goal? 3 times they were in field goal range and went for it on 4th down all 3 times and turned it over on downs.
There is good reason to look forward to the upcoming seasons. The Huskers have a fairly young team.
I am curious who will step up in the I-Back role, will Newby beat out Cross or will someone deeper on the depth chart prevail.
Will Tommy Armstrong be the QB next season or will it be Stanton (who Riley recruited for Oregon State).
How good will De'Mornay Pierson-El be when he's a Junior or Senior.
Cethan Carter may be a breakout TE next season with Riley as the head coach. A lot to like in the secondary for next season.
Charles Jackson should be back from injury and should be thrown into that lockdown CB role, hope he can handle the pressure.
And the biggest question that should be answered in the next 2 weeks is who will Riley hire onto his staff. I think that is more important than the Head Coach position. I'd love to see Kaz and Ron Brown kept. Some Husker fans may hate me for this, but I would love to see Cotton kept on as the OL coach but we all know that's not going to happen.
