I think Blackledge said it best at one point.

There was a play where it looked like he just stopped playing but he was surveying the field. Blackledge was like he is so composed and calm, it looked like he stopped playing.

He needs to mature and realize he cant force those throws deep and to stop floating so many balls up there. He is going to kill a couple receivers.

On the flip side of that, man does he have some nice touch on those deep streaks and posts over the middle. Those 2 passes to Benjamin were a thing of beauty.

I got chills when I saw the route Coop ran and destroyed that LB in coverage. He almost dropped it though.

Cant wait to watch this game again. I was to drunk, hyped, and on edge to thoroughly enjoy it. Now that I know we won, I can rewind the great parts and see things I didnt the first time. :D

Guys, im not saying hes a Dan Marino Jim Kelley or a Joe Montana. Nor am I saying that he will be a great passer in the pros. Quite frankly he doesnt have the mental game for that. And yes the reason his passing numbers were what they were was becasue he could run. But he had a gun, he was accurate for a college QB and he won games. By no means was he a Colt Brennan or a Graham Harrell but with your reasoning they should be counted either becasue of the system they played in.

All this started becasue I stated Harris had escape-ability like VY did back in College. You guys can choose to disagree, just saying the numbers back up that he was a good passer.
dude vince is cheese :D just face it :P

congrats nasty...some funny shit after the game walking away from the stadium...

#1... FSU fans took the loss like Florida fans did during the Zook Era...they were mostly saying well we tried...wow I guess losing is getting that normal...I remember when teams got mad that they lost.

#2... Miami fans celebrated with their normal U chanted...in which an FSU fan replied "UUUUUUUU shut the fuck up" thought that was funny at the time...since the mood was sorrow lol.

#3... FSU fan on the walk back to the car...(silent while walking) "HOW THE FUCK DID WE LOSE TO THE SHITTY ASS CANES AGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH" "MIAMI YOU ARE SO LUCKY YOU DONT PLAY UF CUZ THEY WOULD WAX UR ASS" I know that really isnt too funny...but considering I was probably 1 of 2 gator fans there...it was to me.

#4... Miami fans really let the nole fans here it...mocking the fsu chants with chants like "uuuuuuuuuuuu looooossssstt" and "we have no losses"

Overall it was a damn good game...I still think FSU makes Tampa because of their schedule...but now that miami won it makes for an interesting season.

Isnt it in NC this year??
That would suck if we both made it back and its up there and not here in the state. :x

Long season to go though.

I don't consider either of them to be "great" quarterbacks, either. A "great" QB is one who can make ALL the throws, AND who can lead his team to the big win at the big moment. And many of them go on to the NFL and do well because--again--they can make ALL the throws, not just dump it off to one of the 5 wideouts they have on the field. I'm a UK fan, and I consider Andre Woodson to be a better QB than Tim Couch--who was taken #1 in the NFL draft--because Dre was not in a passing system like Couch was; and Dre STILL destroyed Couch's records, even though Couch was a Heisman finalist, and Dre also got it done in the clutch--Couch didn't. But if you ask a "talking head", they'll all pick Couch because his "system" let him put up more 300 yd games and score more points.

Guys like Plunkett, Elway, Montana, Vinny T, Namath, Marino, Manning, Staubach, those are great college QBs. Ward was ten times better than Young ever will be. Young got hyped because he was dual-threat (and everyone loves the QB who can make plays with his legs) and it opened up a lot of passing lanes. Now that he's in the NFL, where his speed makes no difference, and defenses don't really have to take guys out of pass D, he doesn't have those lanes, and he gets picked.

Uhhhh Jsence your crazy if you do not think Colt McCoy is "great" QB. That guy is a fuggin stud.

VY was a run first pass second guy which helped his numbers out, but.....by the time of his Senior year he was the most efficient QB in the nation. I will say right now that VY should have won that heisman just like Frazier should have at Nebraska. Without VY Texas wins 8 games without Bush SC loses 1 maybe 0. Comparing Young and guys like McCoy or Vinny T or Marino is impossible, two completely different players in different times.

The FSU CowGirls were in full force! Miami may have won the battle, but FSU won the WAR! ;)

Reading is fundamental, Packsy. You should try it sometime.
jsence2 wrote:You're acting like Texas' QBs have lit up the skies. I see the same three or four names on those records' lists, and none of them (not counting McCoy) have really done anything beyond college,
Let me point it out for you, just in case you missed it this time too:

Two things stood out watching the replay:

1) FSU should beat down the guy who came up and missed the tackle on third and fifteen. FSU had just scored on the pick six, they had full momentum, and if that guy doesn't WHIFF on the tackle, Miami doesn't convert a FIFTEEN YARD FIRST DOWN, they punt from deep in their territory, and odds are they never recover. Instead, they moved down the field and got the TD.

2) The deep pass with two minutes left was actually a trick play gone wrong. If you look, you'll see that the RT actually lines up to the LEFT of the LT, and the tight end lines up at RT. He then goes out for a pass, but was totally covered. Harris then had to adjust and luckily the guy who was the decoy had gotten open, and he made one hell of a throw to him.

This play was so HUGE. I agree. They had taken control of the mo and we werent stopping them on D. They get a stop there and who knows what happens.

The receivers played ridiculous. Tons of weapons at receiver and all big, fast guys besides Benjamin who is a burner and is just so smooth from the slot with amazing hands.

My apologies I saw the name Colt and thought TFAN after you quoted him he said Colt McCoy not Colt Brennan, my mistake.

Tfan Harris and Vyoung are different, I dont think Harris will ever rush for as many yards or even close to what VY did because Miami does not need him too where as Texas just put their whole game on VY shoulders running and passing.

Was explaning this to the gf during the game (who requested that we watch)...

I've always loved to watch Miami-FSU because of the defense and the speed, but the past few years its been soley defense because both programs were down. After watching the first quarter or so, I looked over and said "Welp, they're back." Knew both teams wouldn't stay down long, and they both appear to be back which is great for cfb. So much fun to watch their freakish athletes
