it was alot more fun than i expected. wasn't a huge crowd, got to see everyone.
my biggest takeaway is most of those dudes are way bigger and athletic looking than i expected. i certainly didn't expect a ton of Daly's but i also didn't expect them to be as filled out as they were either.
got pretty drunk, almost got hit by a few balls and added to my golf addiction i picked up recently. fun day
Nice. Looks like a great tourney and course. Our guys said it was really cool

That would be a great tournament to go to. I'd like to play the blue monster.

What do you guys normally shoot? Are you a near 0 handicap player, or more near 10 like myself? Lowest handicap I've ever had was a 7, but that's when I golfed in a league and played 3 times a week.

If I can consistently get the ball in the air I consider it a good day

Bogey golfer here, usually only go out for 9 at a time. on my best days I'll end up a couple over par, on my bad days it can get pretty ugly. I'll get a birdie every couple rounds, same with throwing a snowman out there
I wish I could get into a league, unfortunately can't with the work schedule. As it is I get together with a group of guys for a quick 9 most Sunday mornings in the summer, then get out with my dad whenever we can during the week. Fuck I'm ready for spring

I'm pretty average I think... 14-15. I'm prone to blow up holes, so a really good round for me consists of avoiding the snowman and getting a handful of pars. If I can do that, I can leave the course pretty happy.

I can't wait to play. I only got out once last year due to my shoulder surgery. Didn't swing a club all year till that day. Hit a small bucket at the range to test the shoulder out. I shot a 43 and a 41. I lost my touch on the green and gave up a lot putting, but I only missed one fairway with the driver. It got me very excited and ready to play this year.

My handicap index is a 4.9, but I've played once since October, so I'm probably playing like a 7 or so. Usually in the mid to upper 70's, low 80's

What do you guys use to calculate your handicap? I just threw a guess out there. For 18 Im usually in the mid-80's to low 90's

More specifically, is there a good app or something similar where I can just plug in my score after a round and have it keep track?

Yahoo has a handicap tracker. GHIN is the official one, not sure if they have an app tho

GolfLogix is a good app. It will track your stats and generate a handicap for you. Knowing your distances to the green never hurts either.

You can do it for free on golfdigest.com I believe. My friend built one for our annual golf trip. We enter our scores/tees/etc for local courses and it does it for us. Him and I set up the calculation a long time ago to make sure it was right. Considering 75% of the guys that haven't went with us on trips don't have a clue about handicap, we figured this was the easiest way to get realistic numbers for gambling. Since the initial setup, a few of us have been more consistent about entering our own information.

I'd be shocked if it's also not built into Swing By Swing. I've tinkered with that app before and it's pretty awesome. (especially the paid version)

Very cool Downing! Great products!
Dropped my clubs off yesterday to be regripped. Went in thinking that I was going to get the Wynn Dri-Tac, but Golf Galaxy was running a promotion for free install on the Golf Pride CP2 and CP2 Wrap. I hadn't looked at these before. Apparently they hit the market last year. In terms of feel and tackiness, they are right there with the Dri-Tac. I'll be able to give them a shot on Wed/Thu, assuming weather is ok. (They'll be done today, but toooooo busy!)

What was the special? My current clubs need to be regripped, but I'm planning on buying new irons soon so may put it off. The new iron budget took a big hit this week with Augusta swag tho

Just free install on any purchase of 10 or more, CP2/CP2 Wrap or another version that I didn't look at. All Golf Pride. They also had another deal but the bins were sold out... they were Lamkin grips, around $9 per, buy 1 get 1 free.

I played Saturday for the first time in months. Shot a healthy 108. I am terrible but all it takes is that one good drive and putt once a round to get me to come back out again next time.
