Pokes dropped to 6th.
Arkansas is 3rd, followed by VT and Stanford.
Sagarin ratings are also out. Arkansas is 7th.
Lets say Arkansas beats LSU and LSU and Bama wins out. Who goes to play in "THE GAME"?

That's what we've been going back and forth on for 5 pages.

But look at these schedules, look at who these teams have played and look at how they won these games, and tell me, if Arky beats LSU not in a blowout, how should LSU OR Bama be ranked behind Arkansas. It's debateable, but I dont think Arkansas's resume has much on it to really make a push for Arky over either Bama or LSU."
Because it's happened already Shel. No one gives a fuck about the past, they care about what just happened. Texas beats OU, OU beats TTU, and TTU barely beats Texas on a monster Crabtree catch, and Texas drops behind Texas Tech and OU goes on. It's already happened, why are you thinking this through? lol.
I'm sure America wouldn't lose sleep putting Bama in over LSU. only upset fans would be in Louisiana.
The only difference between Arkansas and LSU's schedule is that they played Oregon. Our SEC schedules are comparable and WVU/TAMU is a wash. If Arkansas beats LSU this week, even if it's close, we will jump over them. No question about it in my mind.
Hey Razorback. Do you still post on TigerDroppings? IF so, are you familiar with LSUMatt, the dude who has been the board's BCS guru for a few years? I think he even ran his own programs or algorithms and reproduced all the BCS computer polls, or one or 2 of em or something like that. He's usually pretty good with BCS projections.

Yep, I've been fighting the good fight this morning on the SECr.
I was wondering about his background. I think I saw that he says LSU gets in no matter what right? Has he put anything out yet this morning?

Damn, I was hoping you'd at least back me up so I wasn't quoting an anonymous LSU message board poster, even though that's what I'm doing lol.
Yea, since at least 2007, every year he's like the BCS guru and is always spot on. And after the chaos last night, he said, basically, word for word what I predicted earlier on here.
Obviously, it's all guesses and I don't expect anyone to take it seriously since they never really read any of his previous BCS posts, but that being said, it definitely confirms my opinions.
Here's his exact quotes, i'll underline the exact stuff I said last night lol:
Personally I think as long as LSU keeps it single digits the three are pretty close in the human polls, with Bama probably getting the slight edge (tough to say how LSU and Arky shake out but I think they would be separated by a few votes). That would all be fine, because it certainly appears that LSU's computer poll is the strongest of the 3, Bama second, and Arky a clear #3. You crunch the numbers and that should send Arky to #3 in the BCS and LSU in.
Here's his latest thread this morning where he added a few more posts today, but nothing telling:
http://www.tigerdroppings.com/rant/p/29 ... kdown.aspx
And I think he's right, LSU/Bama/Arky will split votes. And even if LSU comes out last, it'll be somewhat close, and they'll make up that difference in the computer polls.

man, I'm gonna have a great consolation prize if LSU loses.
No one at all is factoring in computer polls.

We'll find out how much it does for them if they win.

I had actually never heard of him before this past week when people started linking his posts from the Tiger Rant on to the SEC Rant.
It wouldn't suprise me if we didn't pass LSU. While I am confident we could there is a lot of ground to make up in the computers. I will have my fingers crossed that we can make up just enough if we win.
Although the winning is going to be the hardest part since we have only won in Baton Rouge one time since 1993. However that was also the last time that LSU was ranked #1.
It would be all kinds of ironic if we beat you again while you were #1 and you still went on to win the NC again regardless.

So you at least admit there's a chance and there is logic in my thoughts.

He's some sort of computer wizard or something, and he reproduces the BCS computer polls, I guess he somehow figures out the actual formulas since I don't think they're made public. No clue how he does it.

Hell he is being nice but I guarantee come next Sunday his tune will change if they win. Anything can happen I just think your logic is flawed and purple and yellow tinted. Just win and hopefully we will do the same

I would be curious to see in the history of college football where your argument ever happened.

If we beat LSU next week and get left out then I will most definitely be one of the most pissed off people around.

This is a unique situation, it can't be compared to any other. It happened a few years ago with TT/OU/UT, but again, TT's resume simply didn't stack up to the other 2, so they were left out. In this instance, LSU will likely have the best computer score, so it's never happened before, so there is no where to turn to see how it played out before.
Has any team ever gone from ranked 7th to 2nd in the polls when I believe #2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 didn't lose before LSU did in 2007? No, but it happened.

TT;s resume didn't stack up?? They finished ABOVE Texas. Hence why OU got in over Texas. It's the same situation here, I don't get why this is so hard for you to get lol

Closest I know of is Bama, mich st, Notre dame in the 60s. Bama was back to back champ and undefeated and 3rd. Nd and Msu were 1-2. Msu nd played and tied the final week. Voters kept them all the same. Nd wins national title

Oh, and also biffy, you can't really say ever before, you can only go the last few years with the current BCS structure.
I never said Arkansas won't go up or LSU won't go down in the human polls. I never said that, that can and probably will happen. I am saying the computer polls will be more than enough to get LSu back into the top 2 and leave Arkansas out.
Whether anyone agrees or not, that's fine, but I think that is very logical and can definitely happen. Get outta here with the purple and gold tinted glasses.

There were no computer polls, so that isn't really that close.

A solid quote of one of the BCS prediction sites.
Even if you live under a rock on some distant planet, you'd know that the SEC has won the last five BCS championships. But apparently that's still not good enough.
Now the SEC wants to hoard the national championship game entirely to itself, and have the game played on its turf, just to make the point clear.
