Back to the guy who sent the letters.....if this stuff is true, he's got a legit beef, and it looks like these letters were his last straw after over a decade of fighting.

He also tweeted to Raldey Balko in 2011, stating he was afraid for his life for blowing the whistle on illegal organ, tissue, and bone harvesting. This is a known black market that is worth a lot of money. I'd be interested in seeing if anybody has ever investigated what he reported, or if people just continued to sweep it under the rug. Mississippi has long been known to be a pretty corrupt state in regards to local pols.

We live in a Twitter world, where many news organizations are more concerned with being "the first" to get the news out there whether it's right or wrong, because if they're wrong, nobody remembers it or calls them on it; and if they're right then they can say they got it out there first. They can use "sources" and shield themselves from lawsuits and push it off on the "sources" when they're proven wrong.

It's sad. I miss real journalism. That's what made the breaking of the Te'o fake girlfriend story so refreshing, someone actually did real legwork and made sure they got things right before coming out with the story.
