Simmons really never even tried to shoot jumpers. But that's something you can learn over time in the NBA and become good enough at it.
Shit I don't even know who Blakeney is? SO he must have been a huge disappointment, haha.
I am not saying he won't be able to shoot, that would be my only knock on him. He was the best passer I saw all year in college.

I certainly don't know much of anything about college hoops, but I watched parts of a few LSU games. Just going off of the general talk i've heard from fans.
Blakeney and Simmons played together in high school(probably 10 minutes from my old home in Florida), and came in together at LSU. Not sure how high, but I'm pretty sure Blakeney was a really highly rated recruit, 5 star type, if they even have stars in college hoops lol. But yea, he didn't play all that well, considering.

Great player, great long career...but also one of the more overrated NBA players in my lifetime, though his longevity was very impressive up until the last 2-3 years. Seems like just about everyone has him penciled into their top 10, and a lot say top 5 as well. I'd say top 20 or so.
Pretty shitty person from all accounts, he basically even says so himself.
Kobe after basketball, should be interesting to see how that goes.

Kobe will be forgotten like everyone else. the game moves on. Kobe was great for the exposure of basketball, but hes lucky to be born before the analytical boom cause hes not very efficient.

What I learned from Kobe is that if I cheat on my wife I just better take out a loan and buy her a big ole diamond... That should make everything better

I'd prefer he stick around. It's great having the Lakers in the tank for the last few years. The longer it can continue the better - and he's a big help with that. I don't really give a damn about the NBA, but the massive amount of bandwagon Lakers fans when the team is good is nauseating.

To steal a take from Bob Voulgaris, Kobe this season has probably been more detrimental to a team than any player in NBA history. From how bad he's played and continuing to be the focal point and taking shots, to his being the focal point not allowing the youngsters to be developed as well as they could, it seems like a valid point.
