Fanduel / Draft Kings Discussion
Re: Fanduel / Draft Kings Discussion
This guy Thabo Sefolosha is apparently going to start tonight and he seems to have been scoring well in his reserve role.

Re: Fanduel / Draft Kings Discussion
I have been and he is no world beater but needed a low cost guy to get better in other areas and he was a boom or bust type play but he is super cheap and made the leap.DRiccio21 wrote:make sure you're looking thru the guys and not just basing it totally off the Basketballmonster #'s.
for example, Alec Burks is projected for like 24.4 or something. he hasn't scored that in like 7 straight games. not saying he's an 'awful play' given his price but he'll always be considered good value on basketball monster until they lower his inputs.

SG Kobe Bryant LAL@NO $8,500 swap out
SF Carmelo Anthony Orl@NY $8,600 swap out

just joking. he's not a usage player at all. but if you need the low price to fit the lineup, he might grab the value.

Re: Fanduel / Draft Kings Discussion
I was wondering how your lineup looked so stacked then I saw Sefolosha was only $3k
Re: Fanduel / Draft Kings Discussion
unless there is an injury i'm not familiar with i'd be careful stating Kaman.
he plays like 15-20 mpg. one bad rotation for him and you're getting nothing.
but again, same thing, he's cheap and he does usually put up points in his short time out there.
i'd just rather have consistent players in a 50/50

yup if he can get the value for Sef and Kaman, he'll have a good night.Cnasty wrote:I was wondering how your lineup looked so stacked then I saw Sefolosha was only $3k
i got 1.5 point from Dorrell Wright last night (he didn't end up starting) and i still came in the top 1/4 in almost all my 50/50's and won all of them

Re: Fanduel / Draft Kings Discussion
And that went back to my point of why not play all 50/50s versus running H2H but you explained it pretty well.
It just seems, again, small sample size, 50/50 seems like a more consistent level of success versus the randomness of H2H that can happen.

I'll look again. I just saw starting and, obviously, my eyes light up, lol.DRiccio21 wrote:notrendon wrote:This guy Thabo Sefolosha is apparently going to start tonight and he seems to have been scoring well in his reserve role.

This is the due diligence part I was talking about. Check the box scores on some of the players that look like great values and make sure that those projections are realistic for them. Good call out Dave!

RG has their own algorithm for created optimal lineups. They have advanced stuff as part of their Grinders Incentives packages.
Lineup Lab is a pretty sweet concept. It uses NumberFire projections (they are good, that's who I used before BasketballMonster) and you pick a few people from each position that you like, it fills up the right side with those players. Then on the slider below that, you adjust the output of how many teams you'd like it to make. Then it switches around the players that you like to tell you some optimal lineups. Kind of crafty if you have a good idea on how to pick the players that you like.

Re: Fanduel / Draft Kings Discussion
What do you guys use for your injury updates like real time?
I found bleacher report team stream/fantasy alerts to be pretty reliable as well as NBAinjurynews on twitter but was wondering if any others.
So it looks like I am rolling with the lineup I posted unless some other changes come injury wise. I hope Alec lives up to the hype!
