Plasti dip seems like an economical option for new wheels at the moment but dont want it to look cheap either

No I didn't do my wheels. Still considering it though. The grills on Chargers aren't too bad really. You need to take off the front end to get the grill out. The front end itself is only held on by like 4 bolts and then there are 10-12 screws on the plastic skid pad. It is easier to do if you have someone helping you but you can do it by yourself. Go to a Charger forum and someone will have a write-up on how to do it.Cnasty wrote: Did you ever do your wheels Oracle?
Thinking of doing the Charger wheels that glossy black they have and possibly the grille.
The wheels seem easy enough but the grille may be a pain in the ass.
The glossy looks pretty sweet.
We recently bought a used Fusion, and the wheels have some curb rash on them. I was considering just replacing the wheels, but after seeing that video of the plasti dip I may just go that route for a quick/cheap fix.Cnasty wrote:I like the 20 inch R/T stocks like these but I have zero interest in paying that much for wheels at the moment and didnt know the plasti dip comes in gloss for black rims. I dont like the look of the gun metal on the black for my car but those will look sweet on yours

Yup I looked at that exact page. Apparently hardware stores sell the stuff for $5-8/can, might run up there and try it on a wheel to see how it looks and go from there.Cnasty wrote:This is what I am looking at Weas:Weasel wrote:Yeah if I do it, I aint taking shit off. But also adding in the pre dip spray and masking bags for the calipers and brakes. I am sure i could use garbage bags but this is all in one.
Thats for the glossy look. The matte finish is only $26 or so for the package as you dont need the glossifier.
$50 for a floor jack and you can have your car jacked up and 2 wheels off at one time. It will take a lot less time than trying to cover up all the spots behind the spokes of your wheels and you'll have the peace of mind that you don't get any of the plasti-dip on the rotors. Believe me it is a lot less hassle than trying to do it the "easy way".Cnasty wrote:
But this is a pain to take the wheels off and he didnt take them off the audi and it looks great.
ive read its just like a cleaning spray to prep before beginning.Weasel wrote:Any idea what the 'pre-dip' spray is?
