Texas will flip blue by 2032, if not 2028, no matter what Cruz does. You'll always have the traditional "Texas Forever" boys... but the trends seem to show that they are a lot closer to Texifornia than The Lone Star State. It's a bit ironic, because for quite a few years republicans promoted how great Texas was and how much it was booming. But as acres of ranches disappear and a handful of red voters that own and handle those ranches move on, the area is filled with thousands of energy and tech jobs that are frequently filled by liberals from out of state. Narrow-minded republicans will scream that it's immigrants, while not understanding what's really going on. If you look up an election map for Texas, you'll see that the areas of Houston, Dallas and San Antonio are flipped. South Texas, almost to Corpus Christi voted blue in '16. Then a few counties to the west. Everything else is a sea of red. When Ft. Worth and CC flip and the counties just outside of the other major cities start turning, that's the end.

Like you said, has nothing to do with immigrants.ReignOnU wrote: ↑Mon Jul 20, 2020 4:56 pmTexas will flip blue by 2032, if not 2028, no matter what Cruz does. I don't know if nothing is the right answer, but it's definitely not the main answer. I've really never looked in detail. I do know that for years, there has been a 3 party system in Mexico (basically left, center, and right) and the left has been dominated by the other 2. In '18 I believe, the left finally had someone win the presidency, in a bit of a shocker (though he did run a platform of nationalism). Something like 75%+ of Mexican's identify as Catholic.
Most of the time, when those families come to the US, they are day 1 Republicans. Now whether or not they vote and/or maintain those views over the years is a bit of a different story.

Reign, you hit the nail on the head with a lot of these businesses and people relocating from blue states. I really see Texas becoming a major battle ground in 2024-2028

Re: Politics and stuff
What if Trump goes all out, pushing the need for mask?
O/U 5.5 days before MSNBC and CNN are promoting that masks are really bad
O/U 9.5 days before a prominent Democrat politician says they are bad (to a reporter/on air)
I figure that they need 2-3 days to be sure Trump is pushing that agenda, a day to clear it with their leaders (or have it shoved down their throats from above), then time to get the story out.

A teacher in Michigan was supposedly fired for a tweet that stated in its entirety, "I"m done being silent. Donald Trump is our president. Don't @ me"
While other teachers at the same school have social media posts calling him a sociophath and narccisist, and crickets...

Re: Politics and stuff
I was just getting ready to type that up. Just like the lady at whole foods who said she was fired because she worked a BLM face mask, store came out and said it was because she kept missing work. I'd lean towards the stores reasoning because they don't want to be sued for millionsWeasel wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 10:54 amGotta be more to it than thatshel311 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 10:34 am A teacher in Michigan was supposedly fired for a tweet that stated in its entirety, "I"m done being silent. My first thought was this.Weasel wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 10:54 amGotta be more to it than thatshel311 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 10:34 am A teacher in Michigan was supposedly fired for a tweet that stated in its entirety, "I"m done being silent. Donald Trump is our president. Don't @ me"

But I also remember posting a couple of weeks ago about the Michigan St professor who published a study before this year on police shootings with the findings stating the race of the officer doesn't really help you predict the race of the person who is shot...and he was subsequently fired because the mob came after him.
So basically, if this was 10 years or 10 months ago, I'd 100% think there's more to it. But in today's climate, while there certainly can be more to it, it would not surprise me if he was actually fired for that tweet only.

He played the masks up in the return of the task force press briefing this evening. If he hits it again tomorrow, we'll go ahead and start the timer. First bet would payout roughly Tuesday, 12:01am.ReignOnU wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 9:55 amWhat if Trump goes all out, pushing the need for mask?

"I wish her well," Trump says of Ghislaine Maxwell, who helped Jeffrey Epstein traffic and rape dozens of underage girls over the course of years.

And if he said I wish she was dead you would be on here saying that. I wish her well enough to take the stand and out people. After that, she can rot in hell

Re: Politics and stuff
i actually would of respected him more if he said she should rot.

Re: Politics and stuff
The only out here on Trump for that quote from what I understand is, the question was specifically related to her taking down pedophiles, and he seemed to answer "I wish her well" with respect to what she knows that can take down bad people.
Seeing the question/answer, that's how I took it, and I'm usually the first one to bash Trump for saying stupid things. Not saying this was the right thing to say or that he said it well, but I do think his intent was to wish her well in taking down bad people.

To be fair, I didn't watch it. Just saw a few articles pop up with a brief response, then looked to his his full response. Even that looked like shit.shel311 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 10:34 am The only out here on Trump for that quote from what I understand is, the question was specifically related to her taking down pedophiles, and he seemed to answer "I wish her well" with respect to what she knows that can take down bad people.

Re: Politics and stuff
He does say that he met her numerous times after saying he wishes her well, so I certainly could be wrong.
But from the links I've seen, the question was about info she has that can take down people, so I could see wishing her well in taking down people, but it is Trump, so he could have just been babbling nonsense.

Re: Politics and stuff
Trump, speaking at his first coronavirus briefing in weeks, was asked if he thinks Maxwell will “turn in powerful men” following her arrest, given that she was the longtime associate of Epstein and was his alleged co-conspirator.
“I don’t know, I haven’t really been following it too much,” Trump said of the case.
“I just wish her well, frankly,” Trump said. “I’ve met her numerous times over the years — especially since I lived in Palm Beach, and I guess they lived in Palm Beach — but I wish her well, whatever it is.”
they gave him a alley oopto say "i hope she brings those predators down" (or whatever he can legally say iunno about slander etc) and hes like iunno much about it i wish her well. WHAT

Re: Politics and stuff
Saying he wishes her well in her attempt to turn in powerful men, while worded oddly, makes sense.
But throwing in the "i've met her numerous times" does make it sound a bit different and maybe not the more positive intent I originally took it to mean.
