Figured you guys in here would know, what the heck is a party invitation on the PS4?(not necessarily COD related)

I get these periodically from a couple of NDL guys but just ignore em because I have no idea what it is. I initially figured it was a challenge to play online in whatever game I'm playing, but I've noticed getting these and then check and the guys sending em are in a completely different game than I'm in.

Cross-Game Chat. If you have a mic you can actually be put in a chat lobby together.

They aren't invites but just a notification that one of your friends has joined a party chat in case you wanted to join as well.

I get the notifications as well, but I have also gotten ones that actually say they are invites. Nonethless, you could be right, i haven't paid THAT much attention to em.
