another example of 'doing a little due diligence' as reign calls it is Iman Shumpert vs Jeremy Lamb.

lets take a look here:

Shumpert vsOrlando is 5300. BM has him as slightly red (37.74 ratio) his last 5 games have been 23.8, 29.7, 24.3, 32.3, 25.1 (most recent is last)

Lamb @Boston is 5500. BM has him as a solid value (45.165 ratio) his last 3 games are 21.6, 30.8, 21.1 (only played 3 since coming back)

Shumpert has been playing the point more and getting more usage last few games cause Shane Larkin blows and Calderon is still out.

things like this are just reminders to make sure you're looking thru and not just 'trusting the #'.

Morrow's minutes restriction is up to 30 tonight, could effect Lamb.

i'm not really scared off by that, but i'm looking at alternatives

Entered 10 H2Hs.

All 10 have Anthony Davis. Hopefully they are winning by 50 after 3 and he sits most of the game.

Seriously... you're creepy... get out of my head. Hardaway is back on the bench tonight as well.

I left the file at the office today, but I pulled my entire history on Fan Duel and analyzed my play throughout. It's probably about 25% of my lifetime DFS play, but it definitely confirmed some common sense results.

#1 ROI - $10 and under 50/50s
#2 ROI - $10 and under H2H

Worst ROI - $109+ H2H
#2 Worst ROI - Any "league" format between 5 - 20.

But when you say $10 and under are you meaning you played 10 $1 h2hs or a bunch of h2h at $10?

I'm thinking the latter based on your ROI information you have shared but confirming.

lookong to have approximately $100 in play each night and I am assuming easiest groups would be 100 $1 h2h but that just sounds weird.

i typically only play $10 or under 50/50's

i really don't mind debating with you even tho you think i'm some evil genie out to get you, but at least make sense... i posted this:
i've done really well (i tripled up 2 separate times)with it when i stay disciplined playing smaller games, but the amount of money i was making for the time i was putting in wasn't worth it for me so i started playing bigger 50/50's and bigger head to heads and the guys playing bigger games (except the rare noob you can rape) are all playing high probability lineups and you'll end up around 50% vs those types of games because all these guys are using basketballmonster or things equal/better.
i'm laughing at you because you think you're just going to 'easily make $1000 a month'. as if everyone in the world wouldn't do this if you could 'easily make $1000 a month' and it was fool proof or whatever you called.

its a game of probability. just like poker or stocks, you figure out a system and thats a great start. but there is a hell of a lot more to it than just finding winners. managing your bankroll and staying disciplined is just as hard if not harder than picking great lineups.

i think you can win money doing this, not as easily as i think reign makes it out to be, but i think you can. i just don't think you should be plotting ways to rearrange your life to play DFS.

You're definitely right. The game has changed dramatically in the last 18 months. The tools are certainly easier to come by and the free offerings even compete pretty well with the paid offerings. I've only been tinkering around for about a week and I see an appreciable difference. This is incredibly similar to the arc that online poker had.

With that said, I do believe that there is still enough of a gap between the noobs and above average players to outpace the rake.

as do i.

what i don't get is whats holding back the competition from making games with little or no rakes. you could steal a huge market share and create value in other areas (selling ads or just creating a database of users, etc)

depends what your bankroll is.

if you're playing 1 lineup like i do, you're going to have streaks when you're losing 2 or 3 nights in a row. if you only have 300 you're willing to put in then you'll be out real quick, especially if you're just playing 50/50. remember if you have a good lineup in 1 50/50 its gonna win in all 50/50s the vast majority of the time. so lots of all or none nights.

i play a mix of h2h and 50/50s. i spend about 20 minutes looking for H2H vs noobs when i get home from work, then i put the rest of what i want to play into low priced 50/50s. if i don't have the time i just put in low price 50/50's til i fill my #

I have a grand thats been sitting in PayPal for a while doing nothing from fantasy baseball and CFB pool winnings.

Its gambling money if you will so figured I'd start with that.

So with your strategy here, how much do you normally have in play each night spread across H2H and 50/50?
