NOTES

* Monday's sim will be the final sim as there are six games to play.

* Playoffs begin Wednesday

* In perhaps the craziest game ever, the Launch were losing 12-3 in the ninth and scored 11 in the top of the inning to win 14-12 vs Washington. Not a single extra-base-hit was made in the inning: single, ground out, single, single, balk, hit by pitch, single, single, wild pitch, single, single, strikeout, single, walk, single, single, ground out.

* Playoff Situation

AL North: Philadelphia and Toronto are tied with 94 wins.
AL South: Port Orange is five up on Carolina with six to play.
PL North: Albany has 96 wins, Sioux City 95, and Las Vegas 93
PL South: NorCal is three up on Steel City
AL Wild Card: Loser of Philadelphia/Toronto race gets #3 seed; New York is three up on Carolina.
PL Wild Card: Albany, Sioux City, and Las Vegas have all clinched playoff spots; just jockeying for position.

* Notable Achievements Coming Down to Wire

Steven Hays of Toronto is 19-5

Sioux City's Javier Fernandez continues his ludicrous run as a full-time reliever and stands at 27-5

Albany's Fernando Vargas' 59 doubles is already a record. Can he get 60?

Steel City's Bill Pickett is four walks away from breaking his own record of 116. Pickett has walked more than 100 times in every season in NDLB history.

Stan Hoffman of Texas and Concordia's Lance Pearson both have 19 losses. Only one player has "earned" 20 losses in the NDLB and that was (now retired) Carolina's Yohanes Ainran in 2010. Pearson could potentially start twice.

Las Vegas' Duncan Phelps needs two saves to tie former Launch close Bob Ivey with 46 saves.

The aforementioned Javier Fernandez cannot top the record for appearances (107) but has pitched in 100 games for the third time in his career.

With two starts remaining, Albany's Bob Elliot will throw more than 249 innings, the previous record. Incidentally, all three top innings seasons (249, 247, and 243) are held by Oliver Ladd.

* Team Achievements of Note

Albany: Has made playoffs for fifth straight season and looking to win the PL North for the fourth consecutive time.

Carolina: Looking to make playoffs for third straight time.

Chicago: Looking to stay above .500; already 24 games ahead of last season's 54-110 season

Concordia: Will likely finish fourth for the third straight season

Denver: Remains one of only two original teams to never make the playoffs.

Hartford: They are the other team. Set to finish last for the second straight season.

Las Vegas: Locked up their third-straight (fourth overall) playoff berth and has set a franchise record for wins with 93 and counting.

Miami: Will miss playoffs for fourth straight year but has shown an improvement (71-85) after, oddly, three straight 65-win seasons.

New England: Will miss the playoffs for the first time in NDLB history.

New York: Looking to make playoffs for fifth-straight time; will join Albany as only team to do so.

NorCal: If the lead holds up, will be their third-straight appearance and second division title.

Philadelphia: Has made playoffs in their third-year of existance.

Port Orange: Set to win division for second straight season.

Seattle: Looking to avoid 100-loss season.

Sheltown: The second-winningest team over the first three seasons is going to miss the postseason for the second straight year.

Sioux City: Will make its second trip to the postseason.

Steel City: Last year's champs are three-back and facing a disappointing 2014.

Texas: Hasn't made the playoffs since 2011 and won't this season.

Toronto: Will return to the playoffs for the first time since 2011; looking for first division title.

Washington: Has all but locked up the worst record in baseball
